After waiting for 5 minutes in a queue, I was served a latte and cappuccino with sour milk. I went back, stood at the queue for another 10 minutes to request a refund/ replacement. When I told the lady at the counter I had bought my coffee about 10 minutes ago and the milk tastes sour, her first extremely intelligent response was that the milk must have gone bad coz itās cold now and it must have gotten spoiled during those 10 minutes. Wow. I told her that the coffee is still hot and expressed how ridiculous it is that coffee could go bad in 10 min. Thereafter she told me no other customers had complained, and she pulled up an unopened carton of milk and showed me the expiry date on that. But failed to show me the expiry date on the milk that was used on my coffee. She refused to give me a replacement or a refund. Basically Costa just stole Ā£5.50 from me this morning. I left both my coffees at the counter - both full hot cups with milk gone bad. I dealt with an old Indian lady , didnāt catch her name but oh my, she was so rude and unpleasant. I politely asked for one tea, one regular mango and passion fruit and two blueberry muffins (memoryās not 100 so not sure if I named my drink correctly). The drinks and blueberry muffins get the one star, but the staff member who was on duty let the place down. She has been mentioned in these reviews and they really need to retrain her and/or mystery shop the place. This person stood in front of me unmoving and said I wonāt go and start your drinks until your payment goes through! At no point did I tell her Iām destitute so can you wait. Just sitting around like a boss and passing sarcastic, condescending comments to customer upon asking for an extra tea bag and a spoon of milk (junior colleague was serving the order). Thr senior staff member thinks she is offering free charity service to customers, that too paying customers inside a hospital premises!!!. Costa coffee's hiring and training standards are so low this staff needs to be trained on soft skills, manners, courtesy immediately.
