When we arrived it was very busy. The staff were polite and friendly but clearly could not cope with the volume of orders. The majority of customers were not locals and I saw a few people walk away because it was to busy. It's not a traditional British cafe but goes for another vibe that will not suit people looking for a traditional british breakfast. Food and coffee was average but the drinks took 20mins and the food 30mins and over priced for what it is, so it will not be for me in future. But I'm sure it will have its place in the market with the large Eastern European community.
Further to my above review; I received a first response from the owner that thanked me for my low review with a sarcastic tone. This response has subsequently been removed and replaced by an equally sarcastic message that suggested that I try Wetherspoons for a breakfast. I'm a little disappointed by both responses as my review was both factual and polite. I praised the staff and stated the cafe was very busy at the time of my visit and this could of lent itself to both the waiting time and quality of food (I even gave the service a 3). I deliberately held back from what I could of said and politely said the food was average as I was trying to be both constructive and polite. What a shame you feel you have to reply and act this way, all you do is show people what to expect if they frequent your establishment. I believe any further comments in relation to Wetherspoons should also be CC'd into their Media and Press Enquiries team for their comments. The moral of this review appears to be "do not tell the truth" and keep your opinion to yourself! After all said and done I still wish you luck with your...
Read moreVisited Eff Cafe today having visited many times before. It’s changed. Arrived at 1pm and waited 20 minutes to receive our coffee. The cafe is so cold you can see your own breath as you sit at the table. We ordered 2 chicken wraps that took a full hour to arrive. It also no longer comes with fries, being told they were now inside the wrap despite it not saying that on the menu and on previous visits, that not being the case. (Price hasn’t changed to reflect the reduced meal). Serial customers had to get up and ask for updates on their food with some being served and finishing their entire meal while the other person sat 20 mins waiting for theirs to arrive. No cutlery or napkins given and the waitress is never behind the till to ask any questions of. As I sit and write this, another customer has complained about the temperature to be told “they can try and turn the heater on themselves If they want”. Those wanting to pay cash are also being told they can’t make change of a £20 note?! Waitress is completely unapologetic of the temperature, time being taken to serve meals or how uncomfortable and frustrated her customers are. There are only 7 tables. It shouldn’t...
Read moreCant fault the food and quantity. The coffee was good. The service could definitely be improved. I walked in and sat down and looked at the menu. Wasn’t sure if it was table service or i had to go to the till. So i went up and ordered and paid and sat back down. No greeting whatsoever. I was served by a young lad who all i could hear during my whole brunch was him on the phone talking about which club he was going to and what alcoholic beverage he was going to pre drink which is extremely incompetent. Even when i finished and left i didn’t get a thank you bye. The place was practically empty so you’d think service would be better. I wouldn’t say its very kid friendly if you have a pram its not very easy to get through all the table and chairs outside and no where to leave it inside if...
