I went there last Sunday morning 6th October for a breakfast just before starting a long day of work. The male staff assistant in the back saw me come in and sit down, but just ignored me. He appeared to be more concerned with fulfilling online orders. There was just me and another guy, who was happily drinking his coffee, in the cafe. Finally after 10 minutes I went to the counter and told him I'm ready to order, but he didn't rush to come and serve me. I had to ask him if I could have the coffee straightaway, but he ignored that and just went in the back. I had to ask him a second time and eventually got it, whereas the other customer was able to ask him for another coffee whilst remaining in his seat. This got immediate attention. The guy was unfriendly, uncommunicative, and had no good customer service skills. The No 1 special breakfast was nothing special and I have certainly had better. Furthermore, whilst he could not be bothered to come and serve me, he found time to come out and spray something horrible smelling on the table behind me, just before I'm about to eat the breakfast, and he also insisted on payment upfront. No problem! it's just about etiquette, that's all. This is APPALLINGLY bad service and I shall never spend my money in there again. I also think that the larger breakfast's are ridiculously over priced and not even good quality. Definitely NOT the best cafe in London.. but probably one...
Read moreThis is the best café/greasy spoon in the whole of south London. I say south London because I can’t comment on what cafés in other areas of London alike.. The owner is an amazing gentleman he is kind hospitable warm and welcoming. It is a comfortable service from start to end. He’s very attentive fantastic for families. Fantastic for builders fantastic for mums who just wanna have a cup of tea and a catch up. Or even if you’re going in for a hangover breakfast! This place is for everybody there are vegetarian halal and of course the traditional pork options. I myself eat halal food whilst my husband does not eat halal food and we both were able to have an exceptional meal. Cafés like this are the last of a dying breed this place is...
Read moreDisappointed - I had heard about this Cafe with regards to them having massive breakfast challenge. However I was in the area and decided to go there. From the outside it looked really run down, I thought it was closed as there were two mopeds outside blocking the entrance to the door. When inside, the tables were all filthy, no menu to be seen other than what was on the wall. When looking at the deals, you have to disturb customers who are already sitting down and in the way of the menus. The service was good but the venue needs to be spruced up and the food was a 2 out of 10. Needs massive improvements. The sign outside states London’s No 1 cafe, this is misleading. It was a winner in 2012 but never again,...
