Fireaway Clapham — Restaurant in London

My visit to the Clapham branch of Fireway last night turned out to be a delightful experience that I couldn't wait to share. Arriving around 9:30 PM for a quick dinner, my partner and I were greeted with not only delicious pizza but also exceptional customer service that truly set Fireway apart.

The pizza we ordered was a testament to freshness and quality. Served piping hot, the flavors were exquisite, and the crust was just perfect. However, what made our dining experience truly memorable was the hot honey chicken strips. Succulent and downright yummy, they added an extra layer of flavor that had our taste buds dancing with joy.

What truly stood out, though, was the outstanding customer service provided by a team member who was managing the place solo during our visit (unfortunately, we forgot to ask for his name). From helping us navigate the menu to ensuring our pizzas were served promptly and with a smile, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and well taken care of.

This kind of top-class customer service is a rarity and deserves to be acknowledged. The dedication and attentiveness displayed by this team member elevated our dining experience to new heights. About the place? Wanted to try Fireaway and give it a go, as I’m a local and love to support local businesses.

What I ordered? Meat Head, tomato base, ham, chicken and pepperoni, Polara limonata.

How was it? Pizza lacked flavour, covered in grease from cheap cheese being used, adding condiments made it a bit more bearable.

What I liked? The Polara limonata, that’s it.

What I didn’t like? The pizza, it was greasy, tasteless, and condiments were extra.

Would I go back? No way, overpriced and underdelivered, the pizza was just about edible, to add insult to injury condiments cost extra. I came away from the experience feeling very disappointed.

On to the rating? 1 star, the lowest you can give, no option for a zero star rating.

I'm a little disappointed cos my pizza was still a a bit raw, dough could use a minute more in the oven, and just didn't taste that great. Overall taste was ok but nothing to write home about.

Pizza was very pale as well, had some crunchiness which I liked.

Good service from, I think based on accent, Italian guy, he seems to genuinely care.

Clean and tidy, wasn't busy. Some seats inside.

Hopefully it was one of, I realize those things happen and would give them a second chance.

EDIT:

Visited again today 24/08/25 and food was so much better. First of all it didn’t feel like it needs some time in the oven. Massive amount of cheese, can’t go wrong with that. Maybe it’s not the high quality cheese but I don’t care.
