I never post online reviews but my recent experience at GAILs was just so unpleasant I felt the need to share it. I had ordered my usual iced americano and immediately noticed that the price seemed higher than usual. Naturally, I inquired about it to the woman at the counter, wondering if there had been a price increase since it differed from the menu.
Her response was extremely impolite, with such a bad attitude, stating that prices had increased everywhere. I simply wanted to clarify the difference between the displayed price and the one I was charged, but she was so inpatient with her quick remark about online orders being even more expensive caught me off guard.
When my drink arrived, it turned out to be an iced mocha instead, which explained the higher charge. However, I must mention that young barista who then made me the correct drink, she was incredibly sweet and accommodating. It's a shame that such a positive experience with the barista was overshadowed by the shocking attitude of the woman who took my order.
Regrettably, this is not the first time I've encountered her rudeness. I also noticed her treating other customers in a similar manner, which reflects poorly on the overall customer service of the establishment.
It's truly disappointing because I enjoyed working here. However, the consistently rude service from this particular staff member has made the overall experience jarring and unpleasant. I will not...
Read moreI’ve visited multiple Gail’s branches regularly — but the experience I had at this particular location was by far the worst.
The staff member at the counter had a horrible attitude from the moment I walked in. I had a reward available through the Gail’s app (as part of the stamp system), which I’ve redeemed at other branches with no issue. However, she insisted that I had to buy something in order to claim the reward — which is completely false. When I politely explained that I’ve never had to do that before, she was dismissive and rude, with a visible scowl and an unwelcoming, almost hostile demeanor.
Then just moments later a man walked in with two dogs, and suddenly this same staff member transformed. Smiling, bubbly, practically chirping “Good morning” like he was royalty omg the contrast was jarring and honestly insulting lol
Favoritism is one thing, but basic courtesy should be extended to all customers, not just the ones who fit some arbitrary preferred...
Read moreVery disappointed with my recent visit to Gail’s Kings Cross. I came in to enjoy the birthday treat offered through the app — a complimentary cake when purchasing a drink. I chose a slice of chocolate babka (which, as usual, was pre-sliced and ready to serve). However, the staff member serving me decided the piece was “too big” and proceeded to cut it in half, giving me a much smaller portion. This is not in line with what the birthday offer promises.
The café was busy at the time, so I didn’t feel comfortable raising it then — but the interaction felt dismissive and frankly rude. It's not the kind of service or tone you expect from Gail’s. I’ve always appreciated the brand for its quality and warmth, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Sadly, I won’t be returning to...
