Heard many good things about this restaurant, however after visiting it I certainly will not be going back.

When we arrived we were seated immediately which was fine, we then didn’t see anyone for 15 minutes. We wasn’t asked if we would like a drink and had to call a waiter over who then gave us menus to place our order. After placing our order we then waited half an hour for the starter to come out. I had the King Prawn Butterfly “supposedly” this was the smallest King Prawn I had ever see and was a one bite starter. My wife had Onion Bhaji which was dry, powdery and tasteless. We then waited a further hour for our mains to come out and to be honest it was the worst Indian Food I had ever eaten. It was tasteless the vegetable dishes we ordered were mushy, my wife had lamb which was completely over cooked and tough. I had a chicken dish which must have been under the heaters in the kitchen as it had a film over the top of it and the chapatis were cold and hard so inedible. A waiter did come over and asked how the food was as we had hardly touched it and we said it wasn’t good at all and they just walked off. Another waiter came over 5 minutes later and asked how the food as again we said it wasn’t good, his response was “oh OK shall I clear your table” and proceeded to clear the table. At this point we’d been there almost 2 hours and decided to skip desert on the back of the starter and mains we had just experienced.

Asked the waiter for the bill and it was there is seconds (funny that). Looked at the bill which was ÂŁ86.45, looked expensive and when I compared the prices with the menu, the staters had been bumped up by ÂŁ2 per starter, the same with the rices and vegetable dishes and the mains had been bumped up by as much as ÂŁ5 per item.

Oh on a side note the toilet got broken although we clearly heard other diners telling staff there was water on the floor. Got to the point where you had to leave the restaurant and got into a flat above to use the toilet so at some points there were up to 10 people (male and female) queuing outside to use 1...

Had high hopes at first lovely decor and nice atmosphere. But hopes slowly diminished as a waiter who didn’t speak any English just was rushing us to order popadoms as if was the only chance to order them. I shoo’d him off and requested another waiter to attend us because he was annoying as he didn’t understand anything I was saying. Service got better after they released I was getting frustrated. The mixed starter I got for 2 wasn’t worth the money had like half a dozen items on a stick. Main course food was nice, but not anything special, although what I felt that was there was a constant urge to grab stuff off our table for ex: the dips served with popadoms was quickly whipped off our table before I could even decide if I still needed it. All felt rushed to me. Not to mention when received the bill I was shocked with the £98 bill I had to double check the receipt because the price didn’t seem right. Was lucky service got better otherwise I would of had the 12.5% service charge taken off! & it’s ironic that a guest review under mine says exactly the same I’ve noticed before writing this, on the same night. Should have requested a copy & looked at it properly. My opinion of place; Average Indian, premium prices, rushed service. Don’t think I’ll be returning unfortunately. I’ll stick to my local Indian 50% off everything on menu food just as nice...

If you are looking for an indian restaurant look no further as Ginger Spice is clearly the best. Decorated beautifully with a large comfortable bar area to relax whilst having pre dinner drinks. The waiters are so friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The food was all lovely. The flavours of the spices with the beautiful presentation made every mouthful wonderful. It was a totally different experience for me as I normally choose a sauce based curry but I decided to opt for fish and king prawns and it was so fully of flavour and the fish remained delicate. My husband chose the salmon main and the spice added to a lovely salmon fillet. We were not rushed and had a great interaction with the waiters. They made sure all 10 of us were served together by using a restuarent dessert trolley to bring all of our dishes at once. The only disappointment was another unnecessarily noisy table of 10 next to us which made conversation difficult whilst they were at their table. But that unfortunately happens sometimes nowadays. The main restuarent was much quieter with curved booth setting to give more privacy which is ideal for smaller groups. I can recommend...

Wife found this place as it was recommended by one of the food critics and therefore decided to give this restaurant a try. They were very welcoming and we got seated within a minute. Menu was provided swiftly. It's a big menu and they have all the classics Indian curry's. We went for few starters and special chicken curry which was very delicious. Portion size is good. The chicken tikka starter was lovely, tasty, soft and moist. I wasn't a big fan of the sheekh kebab as it had red food colourings and did not hit my expectation. The main meal was so delicious. I loved that chicken curry (Bombay Sizzling Tava) and the bombay potatoes. The butter naan was so fresh and fluffy. They do Aroma ice creams. You'll only find these in restaurants and you can't buy them from shops. The coconut ice cream is the one. The restaurant itself was very busy but this did not impact the customer service. 5 star for the customer service. They were really good and hospitable. The restaurant was nice and clean and the decor looked eye catching. Overall I'll definitely visit this restaurant again.

Love this place. Been here a number of times now. Great atmosphere and excellent customer service. Poppadoms and drinks ordered. The Condiments that come with poppadoms were the standard, but they have this coconut condiment which is amazing. Normally I order a chefs special three way starter, instead went for the paneer bites. Thinking it would cubes of paneer, I was slightly disappointed. I'll take it on t he chin though, should have read the description. Ordered a chicken tikka biryani, asked it to be extra spicy, loved every bit of it. I've tried many other Indians, but Ginger Spice has to be high up there as one of the best.

We ordered chicken tikka, sheek kebabs & paneer tikka for starters, all dishes lacked flavour & portion sizes were absolutely tiny. Kebabs were small & only 2 pieces per portion & paneer was a measly 5 cubes. Not to mention the tikka was pretty oily, considering that a tikka is supposed to be cooked on a grill or charcoal. Main curry dishes were ok, nothing we would rush to order again. Expensive for what we ordered & definitely not an authentic Indian restaurant. Much better Indian restaurants around.
