EXPENSIVE BUT WILL IMPRESS You need to attend when there's live music
FOOD In terms of food, I was not shocked nor impressed, as it tastes like other kebabs I've tried at other turkish restaurants as they always have the same meat taste. I prefer Kebabs from a normal street kebab shop or from GDK.
The dishes were quite expensive, as a main would cost you from £12 - 20. Instead of going for individual dishes, you might as well order a platter for everyone. The platter however disappointed me as it only serves 2-3 people. The portion as well did not contain a lot of meat. A platter has all available meat they serve on the menu, you get lambs, lambchops, ribs, chicken, meat, wings etc and 2 types of rice.
There were 6 of us and we had to order 2 platters, 1 platter cost £65! We also ordered starter dishes that came with calamari, halloumi cheese bites, spring roll!? falafel, 2 meats. We also had bread starter, but not sure if that was even part of our paid menu or if it was a complimentary free starter. The bread tasted VERY good, I could eat it all day. Starter dishes were delicious especially the calamaris.
If you ask me, ordering starter and 1 platter should fill up 4 people. The first lambchop I tasted was very very good, but when I had the second lambchop, the taste was not the same as the first one I tried. I was disappointed with the rib, it was just a piece of rib! And it didn't have much taste, it just felt like I was eating a piece of meat. Or maybe I am used with normal ribs from supermarket with sauce dribbled on top of them. But I was not happy with the portion of the ribs. Rice was very good, you get 2 types of rice on 1 platter, one white and the other yellowish orange.
I like the koppernberg that I ordered because it was a 500ml bottle and they serve you with an squiky clean glass with ice and garnish.
CUSTOMER SERVICE Customer service were good, staffs were polite and nice, they served us nicely. Our plates were small size dish which you can use for starters or main. It comes with a napkin and 2 forks and 2 knives.
We didn't wait too long for our food, but we did wait for our table which was already booked for 8:30pm. We were seated around 8:50pm, we were waiting from 8:35pm.
The waiters comes and put new plates on your table when you are done with starters.
We went on a Saturday evening which also happens to have live music. The music artist was amazing, my family really enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe.
The chairs were super comfortable! They also do a birthday celebrations announcements. There's also a hand sanitizer you can use when you enter the building.
You can also take home your unfinished food. They call you hours ahead on the day of your booking, to confirm if you are still coming.
PRICE The drinks we ordered were koppernberg £5, Jack Daniel with coke £6, apple juice £3, martini and 2 passion alcohol drinks.
Platter is £65.
For a family, you should be looking to spending over £100! If you typically spend £25 - £50 at a restaurant, be prepared to spend more here if you are coming with 4 or more people.
Sorry I don't know what the service charge cost is. We spent maybe over £160+ for 6 people. We had 6 drinks, starter, breads+sauces, and 2 platters that cost £65 each.
OVERALL I recommend this place, your love ones or friends you bring here on a Saturday/Friday Live music day will not be disappointed.
Staffs were great, all gave nice service. I would give it a 5 but deducted 1 star because we had to wait despite booking a table in advance. Also food taste nothing special, taste like other Turkish restaurants.
I wish they do a special unique twist to their kebabs that is different from other Turkish restaurants. I would give it a 5 star ONLY for the live music days, but if you were to come here on other days, it...
Read more8 of us went out for a meal early evening on. Sunday. On first entrance the flowers are pretty but the inside a little dark despite the foliage. After being given a black menu in an already dark area of the room we managed to choose our meals. We ordered a couple of mix cold meze platters. 6 dishes of well known cold dips hummus , tzatziki etc. In each dish was about 3 teaspoons of each dip and a large obstructing piece of cucumber. Bread was thin and limp and tasted rubbery and reheated.
We ordered our meals whicb were all basic Kebab dishes. 3 of the dishes were wrong and when we raised this we were met with some grumbling and waited another 15 minutes for those plates to be replaced. No apologies were made. Just more disgruntled looks from the service team.
Overall I cant say that the quality of the meat was better or worse than other similar turkish restaurants. Prices overall are the same now everywhere. The food however was lukewarm with a basic bland portion of boiled rice as an accompaniment with all.
Service was strange with a seemingly forced smile. There seems to be no coherence amongst the floor staff and there were small arguments breaking out between them. They need to take care for native speakers of turkish who will be able to understand the nature of the conversation.
At the end of the service we were offered tea, which by the way, in 95% of turkish restaurants in North london is FREE was charged at £2 a cup. I dont mind but when this is meant to be a custom and free you cant offer tea and then charge for it. It’s dishonest. It was luke warm and weak anyway.
As a complimentary gesture with the bill we were brought something which i am going to assume was trying to pose as Baklava. The filling must have been made with something else other than walnuts and pistachios as it resembled something that looked like fried mince. Inside of baklava is meant to be bright green with fresh pistachios and with thin crispy layers of filo pastry. Good job they only brought round 4 pieces for 8 people as it was a little alarming.
To the untrained pallet this will be acceptable. Amazing even. I don’t often review and certainly my review count is not a reflection on my experience of eating out as we dine out every Sunday. Food was mediocre at best. Luke warm -&; lacked depth of flavour. If you want to eat in a basic Turkish restaurant travel out into North London, and eat where the other “locals” Turks eat when they choose to eat native food outdoors. In Essex areas its just gimmicky and ripping you off because you don’t know any better. No disrespect intended to other customers but it is what it is.
Sorry Kervan kitchen a few flowers is not going to mask the blandness of your food or your poor service. Especially not to native eaters of these dishes. Next fime i fancy a kebab I’ll light my own “mangal” barbecue or head down green lanes where the food is hot, fresh, friendly service, and the tea is hot, tasty and free as it should be. Stop...
Read moreWorst experience ever!!, today was the worst experience in all my time in any restaurant, we tried reserving a table at this restaurant on valentines day, however the system kept crashing, we called the restaurant and the woman on the phone advised us it was not busy please come in and give us your name and we will fit you in, so as you do we turned up at the time for reservation, it was ram packed to the door and no place to manoeuvre, after waiting 45mins/1 hour, we were served by the concierge/manager who had the worse manners/tone I've ever heard, was rude and body language was unacceptable, while speaking to him he was also cutting the conversation and dealing with other people who were queuing up also, upon dealing with us, he said cause we didnt have our names on the reservation he could not serve us has a had to prioritise other reservations which was fine, however maybe communicate with other staff taking calls for the restaurant not to just turn up and wait, during the conversation he was rude, abrupt and frantic as it was busy and trying to escape the situation and advised he did not care if we had called in as we werent booked in as a reservation, after waiting an hour, we sat down at 10pm, food was a set menu, one starter, one main and desserts, drink were separate, this was per person, upon ordering, we chose dessert as they advised no baklava was left as they ran out, food was well undercooked, the lamb was red and way to soft, chicken was okay but also slightly undercooked, at the end the manager offered us a complimentary drink of pineapple juice, which was also not good, after finishing our meak, we wait another 20+ for the dessert, even after asking staff if they were bringing over the food, a staff approached and advised us that the dessert we wanted after not having baklava already was not available and offered us raspberry cheesecake, at this point i was fed up and asked for the bill, the manager kept pestering my family member to take the raspberry cheesecake as a complimentary, even they it was already part of the set menu, honestly the worse experience ever, a complete waste of time, the only good thing there was the atmosphere, live music event due to it being valentines day, other than that, will never go...
