Recently, I dined at Invitation, Northwood, and my initial impressions were somewhat positive. The restaurant exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a charming decor that set the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. The staff were attentive and friendly, although there was a bit of a prolonged wait to get staffs attention for our table even though we were the first people there, making us feel welcomed from the moment we stepped in. The menu showcased a delightful array of dishes, and the food we ordered in the first part of our meal was truly exceptional. Despite the promising start, my overall experience at Northwood took a turn for the worse as the evening progressed. Unfortunately, the service began to unravel, with prolonged wait times and a lack of communication from the staff. The staff needed advice as they did not know the menu well at all. There was no cider, no J20 and no brownies. We were waiting for dessert for 25 minutes before asking the staff about it, to which the manager replied there were no brownies. We had not been told this (but the manager assumed we had been) and ended up cancelling dessert all together! Our dining experience at Invitation in Northwood began with refreshing mocktails we chose the "Strawberry Love" and "Havana Colado," setting the perfect tone for the evening. The Avocado Sev Puri and Bang Bang Broccoli were standout appetizers, each bursting with distinct flavors and textures. The Tandoori Mushroom Tikka and Paneer Tikka Shaslik showcased the chef's expertise in Indian cuisine, offering succulent bites infused with aromatic spices it was so delicious!

We chose a comforting classic for the main, Daal Makhani, which was rich and creamy! Throughout our meal, the attentive service elevated our experience, ensuring prompt attention to our needs. The ambiance at Invitation was just perfect with a vibe that complemented the occasion perfectly.

A difficult review to write. The food was good, as a large group we enjoyed everything we ordered. What let it down was the service. The staff were nice and it came across as they were new. We ordered starters and they started coming out at different times. On three occasions we were asked to repeat what we had ordered, we raised that one of the dishes had not arrived and eventually we had to ask them to cancel it as we had finished eating all the other starters. We were advised there was a problem with the system so the order had not gone through however when we received the bill we were charged for the dish. Whilst waiting for our mains they bought out all the breads we had ordered, we raised that these would go cold without the curries and were informed that the curries were coming out. 15 minutes later we were still sat there with the naans going cold but nothing to eat then with.
