I am really confused and upset. I came into this restaurant around 11:54pm - 12:05pm (cannot recall the exact time) on the 7th of June (today) as I wanted some breakfast. I was looking at the menu as it was my first time in the restaurant and it was only one person who was ordering before my turn. There was no other person waiting after me and so when the lady (she looks Italian, like 5ft7 or so and long dark hair, not skinny) asked me what I wanted, I politely and nicely said to her with a smile that I was interested in the breakfast menu but was still looking around. She looked at me confused and looked a bit upset. I was confused as well as to why she was looking at me this way. The worker behind her making a pizza dough asked me what I would like after seeing the confusion and I repeated the same thing to him and he said was like, “yeah that’s fine” (he said this in a way that he couldn’t see what was the problem and what was wrong with that). Some other workers didn’t look at me nicely. The female worker then left the check out looking upset and frustrated. I was still viewing the menu to see if I wanted to add anything else and the other worker that was behind her making the pizza dough was looking at me concerned and then I told him to “never mind” and then I left the restaurant confused and upset and not purchasing/having the breakfast I bargained for anymore but going somewhere else. I just don’t understand. I wonder if she’s okay? Was I misunderstood or misinterpreted with what I said? If one feels tired or upset, then why come to work to put it on the customer? That’s not fair and not customer service which is the main...
Read moreThe owners of Lola's Cafe just finished a big renovation project and I've always wanted to pop in to see what they had on offer since I've walked past their Cafe for many years. It's just next door to the tube station so hardly much of a walk or struggle to find it.
While it's not very spacious, it still has a really nice, modern, cosy and homely feel and the staff made me and my friend really welcome. There's a front sitting area too which I'm sure would be great on the more sunny days. It doesn't get too busy or loud either as it's on a more family-oriented and residential area which is always the kind of casual, relaxed atmosphere I prefer.
The food, albeit light, priced competitively and above all attractively presented, arrived in good portions and was also very tasty. There's a lot to choose from on the menu, but it's their full breakfast that I really like - not too greasy or salty which is just perfect. Happy to recommend the cafe and looking forward to coming back again...
Read moreI called to order two pizzas and the manager attempted to charge an extra £2 per pizza because the prices had increased. These price increases are not currently updated on their website. I explained to him that I’m currently looking at the menu online and it states a different price, so asked him can he charge me the advertised price and he said no its not his fault it hasn’t been updated, when I challenged him asking that’s it’s not my fault that it’s not been updated either, he proceeded to ask me do l want to order or not and he doesn’t have the time to argue with me, on my part there was no raised or aggressive tone in my voice. I was simply asking him a question about the conflict of his prices. Considering I was speaking to the manager about his prices being falsely advertised, he failed to acknowledge and put the phone down on me, very unfair and rude...
