Today my family and I were treated with such rudeness and racist profiling by who I would presume is the owner/manager? It was raining and most of us who had also bought some food from here were sitting inside to wait out the rain so we could enjoy the field. After a bit, she came over and told us we could not sit here unless we ordered something, to which we replied that most of us did. We had receipts anyway. A few minutes later she put up a single chair on the table and said they were closing and we needed to leave? It was 2:30pm. The sign and google clearly said 4:30pm. It was interesting because she didn't tell the other people in the cafe to leave as they were closing so it was clear she was lying. A dog soon was running around the cafe and kitchen, a dog that was not hers even though she acted like it was (I have a photo of it with it's owner), a family member I was with heard her ask the owner to allow her to use the dog to "scare us" in hopes we would leave. Obviously it didn't work, and the dog was not threatening at all. It is a concern however that she would allow an animal to be in the kitchen where food is prepared.

When all of her efforts proved fruitless, she told us she was going to call the police. This was the most ridiculous thing we'd heard all day. We were doing nothing wrong so we were not going to accept this behaviour so we told her to call them and that now we were not going to leave until they got here. She proceeded to call them and we continued our conversations.

Spoiler alert! The police did not come, they had more important things to do than attend to a racist witch.

The rain had stopped so we went outside to wait for the rest of our family to arrive. She followed us out and closed the doors behind her, standing in front of them to prevent us from entering the cafe again. This was quite funny since there was actually customers still inside and we weren't sure if they were going to be let out.

We didn't care too much until one of the young children we had with us needed to go to the toilet. We weren't aware that the toilets were on the outside when we asked her to let the child use the toilet (we thought they were inside the cafe). She refused to open the doors even if it meant to deny a 6 year old to use the facilities. She just repeated that she'll wait until the police came. I realised the toilet were on the outside and we didn't even need her to access them (might I add the toilets are disgusting anyway).

I do not recommend coming here if you don't want to be a victim of profiling and racism if you are POC. Or if you don't want to be robbed by those extortionate prices.

Photos I've added is the dog and it's actual owner and the woman blocking the door to prevent...

Pleasant location within Lloyd Park with cozy indoor as well as outdoor picnic table seating. (There is an additional enclosed garden area with some benches.) The staff are friendly, and service is fine, but make sure your order is clearly understood. The food is OK and fair value. In my experience, the personal pizzas are generously-sized, tasty, thin & crispy and worth it at £9.50. The hamburger/cheeseburger platter at the same price is also large sized. They do a decent iced-coffee (£3.10), which is not always easy to find in the UK. The ice cream, though not cheap, is high quality. Incidentally, this cafe is dog friendly and very popular with dog walkers. They even have special ice cream available for dog (to eat outside)! Except in summer, when it's open about an hour or so longer, the cafe closes at 3:30pm with last orders at 3pm. (Frankly, I think it should be open later during summertime, at least on weekends.) There is a notice that use of tables is limited to 1 hr due to a shortage of space. Although well-patronised, the café hasn't been busy enough during my visits to see if this enforced. But it's probably not the place to spend long hours with...

Attended lovely little café at the park to complete some work. Ordered and asked staff serving if they had plugs and where could I sit to use my laptop. Staff member pointed to a seat with plugs. After 1hr and 40mins owner abruptly and quite rudely told me to unplug my laptop as not allowed to use. I explained the staff member told me it was okay. He proceeded to ask the staff who all denied it and then came to tell me that they told me no. It was highly embarrassing especially zs at this point the cafe was full and I had to pack up all my work and leave. In the owners defence he did say I could work there but I could not use any wifi or plug anything in. I felt humiliated like I had taken a trip back to 50's. I packed up my belongings and left. As a customer I would just like to say, it's not what we say, it is the way we say it. As an adult I felt so humiliated by the owners tone. I quietly vacated...

First time at Lloyd park and headed straight for the Lounge Café. Busy place but waiting time to place an order was short. They offer you to take away your order or to serve you at your seat and there are vegetarian and vegan choices available, including for hot drinks. For what I could observe from my table inside (outdoor tables available too), everyone there was friendly and welcoming, but Gabriella was the young person who took my order and she was immediately likeable. She was energetic, enthusiastic and attentive. On her way from the kitchen back to the till, she stopped to check on how I was doing, which was a nice touch. I will return soon.
