I recently visited my local McDonald's, and while it may be a familiar stop for many, it certainly has its highs and lows. Let's dive into my experience.
Food – 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ McDonald's food is what it is, but I can confidently say that my meal was hot, fresh, and satisfying. The classic Big Mac I ordered was everything you'd expect – the signature sauce, crispy lettuce, and tender beef patties all came together in perfect harmony. You could tell it had been freshly prepared. The fries were golden and crispy, exactly what you want from McDonald's. They were salted just right, and there was that perfect balance of crunch and softness inside.
I also tried their new seasonal shake, and it did not disappoint. It was creamy, not overly sweet, and had the perfect consistency. The combination of flavors had just the right amount of indulgence without going overboard. Honestly, if you’re here for the food, you won’t be disappointed – McDonald’s hits the mark time and time again.
Service – 3 Stars ⭐⭐⭐ Now, moving on to service. While the staff were friendly and polite, there was a noticeable delay in getting my order. The drive-thru line was longer than expected, and it felt like there wasn’t enough attention paid to efficiency that day. I understand things can get busy, but it would have been nice to see the workers moving a bit faster.
On the bright side, when I got to the window, the staff were very polite and made sure my order was complete. However, it didn’t feel like there was much enthusiasm or urgency to get things done quickly, which led to a bit of frustration. It wasn’t a terrible experience by any means, but I’d say the service could definitely use a bit more energy and a faster pace.
Atmosphere – 2 Stars ⭐⭐ The atmosphere, unfortunately, left much to be desired. The dining area felt a bit run-down, and the seating was cramped. The tables weren’t as clean as I would’ve liked – there were some leftover crumbs from previous customers, and it seemed like the staff were more focused on the kitchen and drive-thru than cleaning and maintaining the dining area.
The noise level was also higher than I would’ve liked. It seemed like the space could’ve used a bit of a renovation to make it feel more modern and comfortable. While I’m sure this McDonald's has seen better days, it would have been nice to have a more pleasant environment to enjoy my meal in.
Final Thoughts: In conclusion, this McDonald’s location serves up great food – you can't go wrong with their classic items, and the seasonal specials are always a treat. The service, while friendly, could use a bit more attention to speed and energy. As for the atmosphere, it’s not ideal for a relaxing meal, and it could really benefit from some improvements. Overall, it’s a solid stop for a quick, satisfying meal, but don't expect to be wowed by the experience beyond the...
Read moreJust had a lovely encounter with a member of the Barkingside Mcdonald’s staff. Her name was Karlene and the utter disrespect shown was disgusting. I was with my 2 friends both 13 years old like myself, not only were we rudely confronted by this lady when placing our order, but after we had finished and i had gone to clean my hands a ball had tapped her leg from in front, (bare in mind i was a good 3-4 metres behind her) and when i get there to collect my bag and get ready to leave she starts shouting. She rudely accused me of “Hitting the ball at her.” While i was obviously baffled she went on to say “don’t look confused you know what you done boy.” I had to say it wasn’t me because it was not a lie but she would not back down, and kept saying i was “very disrespectful” and my behaviour “disgraceful.” I had tried to say for the 8th time that, “i went behind you to clean my hands and the ball hit you from in front miss.” Baffled i attempt to retrieve my bag from below the table but she gets in the way and states that “i will check the cameras and i will be proven right.” Clearly with noting to hide i agree and say that “ok that is fine.” She then goes on to kiss her teeth, say “awful kids these days” and collect our tray. Me and my friends all very confused decide to speak to the manager. Thankfully, the manager was lovely and we tell him exactly what happened and he shows a lot of professionalism which was amazing to see. Just as we are about to walk out we see the same lady talking to a customer…yes…a customer about “did you see them kids, so disgusting, such bad behaviour.” Honestly the customer service provided was the worse i have ever seen and the only reason my review is a 2/5 is due to the manager being amazing! Awful! The worst thing is however is that this lady is like this most of the time we go, causing arguments and shouting at customers and even her...
