Oval cafe — Restaurant in London

My local cafe 'OVAL CAFE, BLACKFEN, SIDCUP, KENT, I can honestly say an excellent one! Well organised, modern throughout in decor, furnishings and furniture. A sizeable seating area of tables and chairs both inside /outside seating, very clean and hygenic, airy and bright within. A varied menu with hearty food promptly served.A good brief conversation with a polite, friendly, cheery, helpful and efficient member of staff. The general norm and manner displayed amongst staff I've noticed. Disabled access and comfortable seating too - customer toilet available. I've lived in Blackfen now for 36 years, this my first visit (?). My wife has been here before on several occasions. Not surprised to have noticed the cafe almost full with customers during most business hours every time I visit the Oval. Very popular with locals and traders alike. I enjoyed my English Breakfast and 🍓 large Strawberry milkshakes, my wife enjoyed her Eggs Benedict / Hollandaise sauce. Convenient parking spaces at the Oval, although it does get very busy and active here weekday / weekend mornings to noon - in particular. TFL bus services Nos.51 and B13 with stops at the Oval (51) and Sherwood Park Avenue ( B13) adjacent. My rating of 10/10,, A1 goes to the owner and staff alone! Best regards, Chris. 👍 ps. This café is absolutely amazing and my go to for comfort food that tastes fresh and is generous on portions. I usually order at least weekly via Uber Eats however, after a particularly bad experience where Uber were locating me a driver for over 1hr 20 mins (not Oval Cafe's fault), I called up Oval Cafe to ask if they knew where my food was. They confirmed that Uber had already collected which obviously, Uber denied. After explaining that I was very tired and hungry (and their jacket potatoes were my favourite thing ever), Oval Cafe made me a new order free of charge and one of the really nice ladies who works there came and personally delivered it - even gave me a Red Bull to help with the tiredness :-). I’ve used this cafe for a while now but today it was awful. The whole experience was terrible, I ordered a coffee which was full of grinds I got a full mouthful utterly disgusting. We ordered 1 toasted sandwich and 2 omelettes. Everything came at different times the toasted sandwich was stone cold by the time the 1st omelette arrived. But the worst thing was 2 of waitress’ spent more time sitting at a table with their friends than actually working! Tables were filthy, cutlery not given out and orders not taken, I saw one table get up and leave as they’d waited so long.
