A group of 43 of us from a retirement association (JOYARA) descended on the restaurant for an evening meal.
I organise four series of meals, and one of them is a ‘Curry Club’.
The intention is to introduce the association’s members to varied tastes and restaurants in the (Bexley/Dartford) area that they may not normally consider, and because of the popularity of Indian meals it has become a series in its own right and we go out at least once a year for a ‘curry night’.
As the organiser, I had eaten here before having ‘tested it’ with a couple of friends: with us ‘testers’ having enjoyed the meal, I hoped the experience would be good for others.
None of the other forty-two attendees had visited the restaurant before, and with positive comments and a number of requests to revisit, at least six are intending to go back privately.
The proprietor allowed us to choose anything off the menu (with a few supplements) and, logistically, tracking the options was a nightmare – learnt for next time to limit the menu choices!
That said, the food was well prepared, served in a timely and organised fashion, and for a large number of attendees there was too much on the plates so some takeaways were boxed up.
We started at 6:30pm, and the group was clearly having an enjoyable time and it was difficult to get them away, with most staying until nigh 10pm… a good sign.
We filled the restaurant, and whilst the manager indicated that they could have seated more, that would have made the seating too cozy – 43 was comfortable.
A minor negative: as a small restaurant, the bar service was disjointed and people were queuing at the front to get drinks… would have been better if table service had been provided or, people were given e.g. raffle tickets upon entry so the waiters knew whom next to serve. After the initial rush, it settled down so not a material issue.
Service was good, food hot and plentiful. Many positive compliments on taste and quantity.
Well...

During my recent trip to London, I had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Oval Brasserie in Sidcup, and it was an experience I won't soon forget! As a California native with a passion for Indian cuisine, I can confidently say this restaurant exceeded all my expectations.
From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for an incredible meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home despite being thousands of miles away.
Now, let’s talk about the food! The menu offered a wonderful selection of traditional dishes, and I decided to try their Chicken Tikka Masala. Each bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced and cooked to perfection. The naan was fluffy and a perfect accompaniment to the rich sauces.
I also had the opportunity to try their Bryan and aloo gobi, and it was equally impressive! The freshness of the ingredients truly shone through, and you could tell a lot of care went into the preparation.
If you’re in the area and craving authentic Indian cuisine, I highly recommend visiting [Restaurant Name]. I can’t wait for my next trip to London so I can enjoy another fantastic meal there!
Thank you for a memorable...
Read moreThis review is in respect of order #932248765. I hate leaving negative reviews when something goes wrong and am a believer of affording an opportunity for the company to fix it. Unfortunately that is not the case here
Let’s start with the main positive and the most important thing the food, absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed it and if it wasn’t for the negative experience this would have been our new no 1 for the food.
The negatives unfortunately well outside our estimated delivery time, these things happens. We were missing an item from our delivery a Sag Aloo, again these things happen. I rang them immediately and asked for a refund on the Sag Aloo. Instead of simply processing they asked me to fill in an online form which didn’t work and I resorted to email. Despite 2 emails chasing I haven’t received an acknowledgment so will resort to contacting the bank for a charge back. I wouldn’t use them again out of principal because if things go wrong they’re not interested in putting the simplest things right. Customer...
