The service was deceitful, borderline discriminatory and the King prawns were not king prawns. I would not recommend this restaurant and have therefore taken time to detail my negative experience to clarify what happened to make me feel the way I do.
The staff member that served me on entry told me that there are no offers on orders for collection when I explicitly asked. While I was reading through the restaurant menu, another staff member suggested I order from the take away menu and placed the menu on the counter table infront of me. He was quickly and sharply corrected in the mother tongue of the staff member serving me. I was then instructed again by the staff member that served me on entry to the restaurant, to order from the restaurant menu. Feeling uneasy, I decided to compare both menus in front of me. To my shock, the take away menu had a special offer on orders for collection. I said nothing and carried on writing my large order on a notepad provided by the restaurant.
I said nothing for I noticed that I was lied to. On entry I was told that there are no offers on orders for collection when I asked the first staff member and yet later when I looked at the take away menu I found there to be offers on orders for collection. The one I ended up using gave me £5 off an order of £40 or more.
While I was writing down my order for my friends, I was surrounded by 3 members of staff even though there were 2 English members from the public in the restaurant. I am of African descent and have never ordered from the restaurant before. I came due to a very positive review from an English member of staff from a local hotel. After taking great care and time to write an accurate order to give the staff, I gave my order and I was instructed by the staff to repeat what I had written. After answering questions about my written order to the staff serving me and hearing verbal confirmation of my order, I asked for the bill. The staff member decided to take out a simple, rectangular calculator. I therefore took out my phone calculator and shortly after he quoted a bill which I paid.
I went home and calculated that the cost I was charged was lower than what it should be. When I returned to the restaurant, I requested to check my order so as to make sure that nothing was missing from my order. Despite the undue pressure from staff for me to quickly take my order home, I checked and found out that 2 items were missing (2 plain Nan breads, which I explicitly explained that I would like and to which I received verbal confirmation). I waited an additional 5 minutes for the 2 items. As I noticed that the food provided by the restaurant was getting cold and that I am traveling by foot, I requested a complimentary food or drink item as a result of the delay caused by their incomplete service. The staff declined and when I requested the manager he too declined a complimentary food item.
He stated that his staff made no error and that he too watched my initial visit (this means that 4 people were watching me, while 2 English members of staff were in the restaurant, sat down and waiting to order from the restaurant) and therefore he will not give me anything for “free”.
I am have now taken great attention out of my free time to write this negative review for I was not only given inconsiderate service, the food (king prawns) was unsatisfactory and my friend took time out of their time to call to complain. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone especially of...
Read moreVisited with my family and was not really impressed. One of the hottest days of the year and we all got warm drinks, had to ask for ice. The food was Pritty basic apart from one thing that has really bugged me. I ordered raita with my meal (yogurt with chopped veg in it) when it came out they gave me plain yogurt so I mentioned to the waited he said No this is what raita is plain yogurt!!! I am Indian and eat in Indian restaurants at least once a month iv never heard that in my life.. any way if I’m wrong my hands are up but the “Raita” came out at the end of the meal so it was pointless. Anyway after mentioning it cost £3.50 for sumink I didn’t want and after the meal was done you would think they would say sorry and take it off the £200 bill just to be polite but this guy just found it funny that I DONT KNOW that raita is plain yogurt ( I think they should check that out coz I’m still Pritty sure raita is not plain yogurt ). I hope I don’t come across upset over £3.50 It’s the overall service warm drinks basic food rubbish customer service. Believe me plenty of good Indian restaurants in...
Read moreThe modest outside of this restaurant leads inside to a welcoming and gastronomically wonderful experience. We dined on a Friday evening and found that the service was attentive and friendly, and the meals presented in a timely manner. The diverse menu is very well priced, the servings are very generous and the quality is superb. We found a uniqueness to each dish which makes them outstanding, from the fantastic garlic naan, to the fish bhuna made with salmon, and lamb tikka created with slices of seared tender lamb. This was a memorably good dine-in experience which was completed with a complementary chocolate and a cloth hand cleansing...
