The hot drinks are 10/10 the breakfast is good value and the portions are large. I don’t like the baked goods, I ordered a banana cake muffin see picture, it was very dry and overpriced. The lasagne I had for lunch today was lukewarm, tasteless, mushy and had no layers, not worth £12.50. I’ll go back to work through the menu but my advice for now is improve the lasagne recipe. Apparently the spaghetti bolognese doesn’t come with chips and salad, but on the google menu it says it does. This is likely a google business account issue. Nonetheless the owner was gracious enough to give me chips and salad anyway. One of the waitresses then proceeded to say to me, it was maybe my phone as it doesn’t appear on her phone. Look as a neurodivergent person I check menus online before I arrive, otherwise I will take ages to order. I felt like I was the problem when it’s not me. Anyway the spaghetti was watery, they didn’t give me enough cheese but had the audacity to charge £1.50 for cheese. At which point they gave me extra cheese when I raised it. The vibe was a bit off. I’m local to the area born and raised, passionate about supporting independent businesses. They’ve changed management a few times, I understand sometimes things change. The hot drinks, smoothies and shakes still stand up, as does the breakfast but the lunch menu needs vast improvement! Have a nice day guys, see you...
Read moreSo I popped into this new refurbished Cafe last week and said hello to the new owners and promised I would come in for something to eat as I used to be a regular when the old owners were in charge. I went in today and there was a young girl who served me and was very polite and so welcoming. I ordered a bacon crusty roll with a drink which came to £6.40. When the bacon roll arrived at the table the crusty roll was massive but when I took a bite all I got was a mouthful of bread and butter. When I opened the roll up it was basically 1 rasher of bacon that had been cut into 2 pieces and this made me furious. I didn't take a picture of it and just pushed the plate to one side and walked out to cross the road and go to start my shift at work. The old owners would never EVER cut corners like that. I've already informed my colleagues about my experience and they won't be setting foot in this cafe and I'll be telling my customers exactly the same too as we're all fed up of being ripped off by new owners who want cut corners and rip people off who work hard for their money and just want to be given genuine food. This cafe has now lost It's tradition all around. Just fancy decor and furniture with fancy plates and mugs....
Read moreNext-level breakfast with a Turkish twist - I’m obsessed!
The Griddle Cafe is hands-down one of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever been to. Don’t let the name fool you — this isn’t your standard fry-up joint. It’s a beautifully curated brunch experience with a serious upgrade, blending classic favourites with a unique Turkish twist that makes every bite unforgettable.
I had the American breakfast, and I’m still thinking about it. Two fluffy pancakes, crispy golden hash browns, juicy sausages, bacon, and a omelette with spicy eggs that packed just the right amount of heat — all seasoned and cooked to perfection. You can taste the quality in every element, and the Turkish influence gives it such a fresh, exciting flavour profile.
The service? Impeccable. Genuinely some of the friendliest staff I’ve come across — warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about the food and the atmosphere they’ve created.
If you’re into your brunch spots and love something a bit different (and beautifully boujie), The Griddle Cafe is a must. You’ll walk in for breakfast and leave planning...
