PizzaExpress — Restaurant in London

We ate here last night for the first time before going to the cinema. I rarely get a chance to have an evening out with my almost grown up sons so was really looking forward to it. Booked online for 6.45 as a Saturday night. Not particularly busy when we arrived (restaurant barely half full). No one interested in fact we had a reservation. Service friendly but SLOW! We waited ages for everything, drinks, starters and mains. We didn't get the water we'd asked for and the water glasses on our table had all been used!! Disgusting! Our waiter completely vanished for about 15 minutes at the exact time our pizzas were ready, so they just sat there getting cold. Eventually they were re-heated and served! They were thin crust so mine was burnt through to the top. No offer to redo them. Oh, and no broccolini side in sight! Towards the end a lovely waitress who had served our drinks asked if everything was ok and I replied no and told her about the food. She came back with an offer of free drinks or more mains but we'd almost finished and didn't want more food. She said the Manager was cooking the pizzas but she'd spoken to the Deputy Manager, who didn't make any attempt to speak to us. We weren't charged for our drinks but all in all a really...

Went on Valentine’s Day before the cinema unfortunately only 3 staff working that evening and was chaos from start to finish. Only the waiters/waitresses were allowed to serve there allocated tables. We was seated and was waiting 35mins for the waitress to even notice us. We ordered the starter of dough balls took 40 minutes then the pizza took another 40minutes. Missed the cinema due to this mess of service. I felt sorry for our waitress in the end as she was run off her feet while the person seating people could of at least helped with taking card payments for the tables after they’d finished or even with the drinks order as he was just stood there checking his phone. I believed he was the manager but was a shocking experience from him and shouldn’t be allowed to even be called a manager.

Wasn’t the girls fault at all but looked like there’s no support from management to even tell the customers how long the wait times are for food or even chip in to give them a hand with at least making drinks or taking payments. To run a successful business everyone should help out no matter their position. Disappointed from pizza express.

I truly dislike leaving negative feedbacks however had very little choice in this case. Just left Pizza Express in Eltham and had the worst ever experience though they managed to get 3 pizzas right, I shared with waiter about the fourth pizza which was burnt. When he shared this with the chef he publicly complained then disappeared and refused to make another and was left with another one. The second pizza was also burnt. By this time the manager (Fazil) was no where to be seen. There was a third attempt by which this pizza was undercooked (as seen in photo) the waiter brought this to the manager’s attention who reappeared and did absolutely nothing and just looked across. I felt extremely awkward and unwelcome. The least I expected was some sort of resolution but it appeared that he was not bothered about his customers. This is a really bad experience that I can honestly say I have never had before in all my experience at Pizza Express. In leaving not one member of staff said bye.
