Such a beautiful venue with beautiful souls working in there. I have been to The Fabulous Tearoom three times now and I did not want to leave a review so I could keep this place a secret for us alone to enjoy however they deserve every appreciation so here we go today!
We previously attended for mother's day - beautiful experience! Brought my daughter back for a bite - excellent! We then booked my daughter's 7th birthday party here (the beautiful garden to be specific) - Booking was so smooth.
Indoor and garden are so beautifully decorated; you can clearly see the team put so much effort and pride in keeping the place clean and beautiful.
On the 28th June (party day), I was running late and worried about set up time. When I arrived at the venue, Louise and her amazing team had set up the garden for us (tables and chairs arranged and decorated) we did not have to buy any decorations or spend time setting up anything (I did not pay Louise for any of the set up or cleaning after party; they very kindly did this despite the already very busy day they had).
There were other birthday parties indoor and a full booking outside yet not at any one point did we feel neglected. Not sure how three people (Louise and her two amazing ladies) were able to look after us all, feed us on time, ensure everyone was happy and comfortable- you need to share your magic please 🙏🏾!
The food is freshly made (hot food came out hot and sandwiches were freshly made as I changed my orders and they happily accommodated (As I was in and out, I saw them make fresh juice, fresh sandwiches and even finish baking a cake for another table).
Thank you Louise! Thank you to your amazing team! Thank you for giving my daughter the best 7th birthday she and everyone will remember. Thank you for giving me so much pride before my guests- everyone including we the hosts were wowed.
See you soon. Xx
If you are looking for a clean, beautiful very accommodating venue for any event or small bite, this is your place. They offer so much yet...
Read moreA baroque, aggressively pink, white and gold confection of a tea room with not one, not two, but no fewer than three gold glass chandeliers. Bask in the relaxing glare of 39 bulbs (not counting side lights). The radio loudly plays a commercial radio station. Subtle is not on the menu here. Also not on the menu, despite the range of loose leaf teas, are tea strainers for some baffling reason. The Liberace theme continues with hand mirror shaped menus. A wide range of cakes and tea, leaning on the sweet side, as well as brunch. Despite a brave attempt at latte art, the cappuccino and latte are indistinguishable and are let down by the beans and a poor machine. Dairy alternatives available. An erratic selection of armchairs, dining chairs and floral vinyl tablecloths completes the look. There are actually some nice pieces buried in here, but you struggle to find them (some beautiful cake stands). Not dog friendly. Narrow entrance, unlikely suitable for wheelchair. Good for: lovers of pink and sugar, those with an active sense of irony, cake, friendly staff Not so good for: Anyone with taste EDIT: Ah, I see the owner has responded to my review with typical grace and dignity. The serving staff were pleasant and helpful, but were let down by the owner, who interprets any attempts at polite feedback as an attack on her "vision". Recently I have been watching Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, and I am reminded of so many of those places run by owners blind to any views other than their own. If you take a look at my other reviews, you will see that they are largely very favourable. I have reduced my review accordingly from 3 stars to 2. EDIT 2: I see that the owner has once again excelled in her customer service by responding once more to my feedback. I think perhaps it is not me who needs the help. I have reduced my review...
Read moreI went to the Fabulous Tearoom for afternoon tea with two of my sisters. They have an awesome menu and can provide SIX different afternoon tea menus depending on your dietary requirements. I had the Vegan, my younger sister had the Regular and my older sister had the Pescatarean. There was SO MUCH FOOD!! we managed to eat the sandwiches and scones but needed a takeaway box for the cakes. The vegan scones were so good, the best I've had! It was also very reasonably priced considering how much food (and free tea refills) we received. Everything was delivered in super cute chintzy China and the tearoom itself was adorable and pink with floral table cloths. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There was a slight mishap with my vegan cakes - something had gone wrong with the recipe - and I highlighted it with the manager who was extremely sweet and helpful. She even called my sister later that day to apologise again to promise to send me some replacement cakes 💗 I definitely recommend this place to anybody that loves afternoon tea. Check my earlier reviews, you'll see that this place blew the Ivy out...
