I am a local person! And Osterley P ark has become part of my routine to go to! BUT when my friend and I visited the cafe (wed 20th july) around 2pm, we chose here as we do, so we could sit outside in the best part( stables cafe, walled garden at the very back!) THATS WHY WE WENT THERE!! ...to be told we couldn't go out there as they had put a chemical cleaning product on the tables and it took a few hours to wear off!? WHY would you do that, when it is open as a cafe!? I do not like sitting out the front in full sun on pub benches, so we sat inside on a lovely day!! Unfortunately in the summer the cafe (which has two outdoor seating areas and inside seating) have a crazy amount of wasps that won't leave you alone to eat/drink in peace so we left the tea and bagged our scones etc to take home. I have been in autumn with no wasp problems and have had a tasty hot lunch well worth the money. Highly recommend the pumpkin trail which is fun for all the family! (you need to pay for entry into this part of the park) Will definitely be investing in a national park membership so I can walk through the beautiful gardens and explore the house...
