Star of Spice — Restaurant in London

I'd never been here before. Star of Spice was full of surprises for me. Since a lot of banquet/buffet offers have not continued after Lockdown, I was surprised to hear they had it again. I get confused between banquets and buffets, so was surprised to see no help-yourself table. I was given the normal menu and told to order a starter, a main course, rice, a vegetable dish, bread and coffee afterwards. All for this tiny price, what a surprise! I was told there were a few items not included (no surprise there). I asked about a Bangladeshi dish from the Chef's Specials. Yes, to my surprise, I could order that. And I did. It was a lovely surprise to have the dishes placed on a warmer so they could stay hot. It was all really tasty. The coffee wasn't brilliant but who goes to a Bangladeshi restaurant for their coffee? First of all, the food arrived on time! And considering it was a bit of a distance from my house it was still hot. The gentleman who delivered the food was passionate about their restaurant and order, which immediately makes all the difference. Now for the food, I can honestly whole heartedly say that this was the best takeaway curry I have had in a long time! I used to order from a local curry house and thought that was decent, but now that I have tasted this, I will only be ordering from Star of Spice. If you are after an Indian takeaway that feels like high restaurant standard, order from here you won't be disappointed. They even added some refreshing towels with the order as a compliment. I have eaten here on several occasions and every time has been outstanding, the staff are friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them, the food is outstanding every single time, proper quality Indian cooking that tastes sooo good. I'm very particular when it comes to restraunts and food, and I can whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone that wants a really lovely meal out. The last time I went we had a birthday party and the staff were truly amazing going the extra mile to make sure it was a special occasion, and everyone commented on how good the food was.
