Service was great throughout the dining experience but did let us down once or twice when staff were having meetings amongst themselves often leaving the diners unattended and, therefore, having to call out for attention. This is never a good thing in my opinion and happened twice and one of these times the person welcoming guests at the door had to step in and rescue the situation.(may have been the manager but no sure) Thankyou and well done. I do wish if we was given the option to dine outside because it was a lovely day, and upon leaving, I came to find out there was a lively outdoor dining area where we could have sat. That was really disappointing and would have definitely contributed towards an even better overall experience. The atmosphere was good in the restaurant and even nicer in the shish lounge and outdoor garden seated area. Very nice and would consider coming here again to experience that. As for the food, it was very average, and despite trying a lot of the speciality dishes, we were not impressed with the output. It looked good, but flavours were out of kilt and not as you would expect. Chilli paneer had good flavour and was decent. 8/10 Smokey garlic chicken was really dry and had a peculiar flavour. Strange dish. 4/10 Crispy chilli lamb. This dish had promise with really good flavours, but when you order something that says it's crispy, then you expect it to be crispy! It was soggy and not crispy at all. Also had some unpleasant gristle left on some of the lamb, which was not nice to eat at all. Doesn't take much to trim this off, so why don't you? 6/10 There was a potatoe dish that was circular potatoes filled with some kind of cheese. I like to try new things, and this was okay but lacked in flavour. 5/10 There was nothing wow or memorable about any of the starters, and this made us reluctant with our choice on the mains. We thought we would try just 1 dish first. Again, we went for the speciality dish, which was keema muttar, and it was okay, but nothing amazing. 6/10. We stuck with this and decided to skip desserts, and the food experience was dipping and getting worse regardless of whether we was.ordering speciality dishes. Overall, the food was a little pricey and not that great. The dishes have promise but need to be worked on and can be elevated and don't deliver. There were many more dishes to try, but considering we ordered things were you were producing your best and we were not impressed, then it leaves little reason for me to return for the food, unfortunately. Aprecaite the effort, the services and the decor and ambience. Hope you take on board feedback to elevate yourselves to where you ought to be. Great service and venue, but you just need to work on the flavours a little, in my opinion . Thank you for your time...
Read moreBy far the worst experience I've ever hard with this place. If I could give it a minus even that would be too much for them. We have been visiting this place for dinners and shisha from the start of this restaurants launch. Initially the staff was lovely and there are still a few that remain till date however the majority of them are just simple rude and don't care a damn. With special note to the manager who calls himself "FLO". We ordered a takeaway as usual on the 17th Nov, from Just Eat as we were told to do so otherwise the delivery will take 1.45 mins. We are 10 mins away. When ordering we specified the food to have green chillies in it and made well spicy. I called in and spoke to someone and repeated my request and he said that was not a problem. The food arrives and it's absolutely shocking, bland, cold, thick gravy: 3 x Black bean in chicken (All with 0 chillies and super thick gravy like the whole cornflour pot was tossed in), 3 x Egg Fried Rice which were 3/4th full and no sign of any egg at all. 1 x Veg Chow Mein (0 sign of chillies again and was super cold) 3 pack of chillies sauces which were all Indian Sauces and Chutneys to go with our Chinese Food Order. When I called in and requested for a refund "FLO" bluntly said 'We cannot refund you as that is our policy but I can send you a repeat order". I explained I didn't like the food at all and you've ruined our appetite to which he simply says.. "Oh so after all these years you find our food bad". I was shocked and fuming. To top it off when I said you know I will leave a review for your food and your attitude on Google and Social Media, he said 'Please, be my guest', it's like saying it's not my restaurant I don't care simply put. I accepted to take a repeat order as all the initial food was mostly in the bin as none of us had any of it. To our surprise the second order was exactly the same, Thick Gravy, No Chilies and this time No Sauces either. I have taken the time to type this out so Tamara Lounge owners realises what it means to lose a...
Read moreA Pleasant Dining Experience at Tamara Lounge with a Culinary Twist My recent visit to Tamara Lounge was, overall, a very pleasant experience. While there were a few minor points, the highlights certainly made the evening enjoyable, especially for those with a palate for certain cuisines.
To start, I opted for the mixed grill. It was good, offering a decent variety and flavour, though I wouldn't describe it as outstanding. It served its purpose as a satisfactory appetiser. The standout in the drinks department was undoubtedly the rose lichi (non-alcoholic). This unique concoction was exceptionally refreshing and flavourful – highly recommended for anyone looking for a distinctive non-alcoholic option.
For the main course, I explored both Indian and Chinese offerings. The chicken biryani was, unfortunately, quite average. It lacked the depth of flavour and aromatic spices one typically expects from a well-prepared biryani. However, the meal took a significant turn for the better with the Chinese dishes. The Singaporian fried rice was truly excellent, bursting with authentic flavours and perfectly cooked. Similarly, the chicken in ginger and spring onions was incredibly delicious and well-balanced. These two dishes are definitely the stars of the menu and come highly recommended.
In conclusion, if you're planning a visit to Tamara Lounge, I would strongly advise leaning towards their Chinese dishes rather than the Indian selections. Their expertise clearly shines through in their Asian-inspired mains, promising a much more satisfying...
