Second review added to the below as we love this pub restaurant and have been twice more! There was more atmosphere this time as there were a few more people being a Wednesday lunch and not a Monday. So all being fair, I've increased the star rating now. The service was much better too. Millie was very sweet. There was an error with the dietary requirement, which I luckily noticed and Millie got this quickly rectified. This time we had the surf & turf and the seabass. Again, the food was 5*....only wish you could do an onion loaf like Miller & Carter (since you own them and do the same tasty beef dripping). The wine selection by the glass needs to be upgraded and more choice to match the terrific food, but aside from that everything was great and Olivia was as friendly and kind as always. ----------‐---- Olivia, the manager, was lovely on the phone. She was really kind and patient helping us check our allergens with the dishes we wanted. On arrival, too, she was so sweet and caring, friendly as well. Reza, the waiter, seemed rather tired and unfocused, but as we got chatting at the end he was more smiley and attentive. He didn't check if our meals were OK until he cleared the plates and we had to chase our drinks at the beginning. We would have liked him to be more welcoming from the outset. Chefs Sorin and Adrian gave us food to die for. Quality and tasty, nicely presented. Only criticism was a couple of ingredients seemed to be left out (artichoke crisps and dates in the risotto), but it was sooooo good we didn't care this time. The gravy with the rotisserie chicken was delicious and homely. Everything was served hot. If you want high-end food in a gorgeous setting, this is your place. Gluten free and dairy free was easily accommodated as promised. We swapped chips for vegetables. Reza said there were four vegetables in the vegetables side order, but we only got broccoli and beans. Nonetheless, they were cooked perfectly and not too al dente. We asked the waiter to check again if the scallops starter could be amended for us and it was. Beautiful new decor from a few years ago and food quality has improved immensely. Not so busy as it was a late Monday lunch time, but there was still a pleasant and calm atmosphere. It was also very clean everywhere. You definitely get what you pay for here. It was my Mum's birthday and our visit to your restaurant made her day as we've had a rough few years. Thank you so much!! See you again soon.

A Special Place That Keeps Getting Better – 5 Years and Still in Love with The Arkely! The Arkely has been one of our all-time favourite restaurants for years, and once again, they’ve gone above and beyond to impress us. We recently visited for a special lunch to celebrate our anniversary—with our newborn in tow—and the whole experience was flawless. The food? Simply unbelievably delicious. The menu is always fresh and exciting, with regular changes that keep us coming back. Each dish is cooked to perfection—huge compliments to the chefs Sorin, Costi, and Adrian for yet another round of heavenly meals! This time around, Olivia ensured we were comfortably seated in the shade, perfect for our little one. Her attention to detail and warm service made us feel so welcome. Can was also incredibly polite and attentive, making sure everything ran smoothly throughout our lunch. We had to delay our mains while feeding the baby, and this was accommodated with complete ease and kindness—proof that the team truly cares. To top it all off, we were surprised with a discount on our bill and a handwritten anniversary note from Olivia, which absolutely made our day. It’s touches like these that make The Arkely stand out. After 5 years of dining here, they still manage to exceed our expectations every single time. Massive thanks to the whole team—and a special shoutout to Olivia. You’re smashing it! See you again very soon!

Place was awesome we wanted to show my mum something like this very peaceful. Awesome food only one thing that bother us was one of the lady staff. Actually we wanted to light up the candle which was on the table so I asked the young boy to light it up but this lady jump in and told him to say no to us. Then she started making fun about why this people are asking about the candle when it's already enough light in the place. She was rude and totally unacceptable behaviour. We said her why you guys don't have lighter if you had given the candle. She said that she don't smoke and its dangerous to go in kitchen to get one. That actually made us uncomfortable as she had affected other people hard work. This happened on 2nd of August 2022 time was 10 pm. We regret to go at this place with my mum because she have to see this kind of attitude as she was traveling back to India. This kind of people should get more training to be there in this profession.

Updated 19 September 2025 - another delicious lunch at The Arkley with wonderful hospitality and exemplary friendly and efficient personal service provided by the General Manager Olivia. Nothing is too much trouble for Olivia who has improved The Arkley in leaps and bounds. The Blades of Beef, Gammon and Eggs, Steak Sandwich, Chicken and wide variety of drinks are worthy of high praise. Updated 2/3 September 2025 - We had hugely enjoyable and delicious lunches at The Arkley on two successive days. Olivia (General Manager) has trained and assembled a highly professional team who deliver exemplary customer service and wonderful food in a friendly manner. A special thank you to Milly (Manager) who despite being extremely busy, particularly on 2 September, remained unruffled and attended efficiently to all our needs with a smile, providing a seamless link between the highly skilled chefs and appreciative customers. Updated 20 July 2025 - We are regular customers at The Arkley and would like to highlight the superb Sunday lunch we had today, featuring some delicious slow cooked blade of beef, roast potatoes, cabbage, peas, carrots and parsnips in a sumptuous gravy. Olivia (General Manager) is doing an outstanding job, with her exemplary leadership and attention to detail and has assembled a professional, friendly and efficient team - Milly, Ecaterina, David, Sorin and Alex - who all go the extra mile. To quote just one example. My wife has a predilection for Pernod, which has waned in popularity in recent years. Olivia ordered a bottle especially for us. It is also worth mentioning, in these difficult times, that The Arkley has an extremely attractive customer loyalty scheme, whereby regular customers can benefit from free wine or money off their bills. Updated 9/6/25 Olivia and her excellent Team of Katerina and Millie and the Chefs are continuing to do a stellar job at The Arkley. Delicious food and exemplary customer service in a relaxing environment. Perfect. Updated (9/4/25) Myself, wife and daughter had another delicious lunch at The Arkley. In addition to praising Olivia (the manager) I must also praise our friendly and efficient server Milly and the chefs Alex and Sorin for the consistently high quality delicious food. Updated (19/03/25) Olivia is doing superbly as the new Captain of The Arkley Ship. If you want a warm sincere welcome, excellent customer service and delightful food head for The Arkley. You will not be disappointed. We dine every week at The Arkley. Worthy of high praise was our delicious lunch today (21 November) served by the friendly, delightful and efficient Olivia and Rayinder and prepared by the talented chef Tudor. Updated again on 16 September 2023. We were welcomed by the professional, very friendly and highly efficient triumvirate of Mahmut, Adrian and Olivia, where we enjoyed a first class lunch. We are astonished by the negative review of Adrian who is welcoming, helpful and highly professional with all his customers, without exception, in our experience.Updated 9 May 2023. We have just had yet another superb lunch served by the affable and extremely efficient General Manager, Mahmut. There is no longer a need for us to travel to the West End of London when outstanding cuisine and service is available locally. Delicious food and friendly and efficient customer service from the managers Adrian and Olivia and their helpful staff, all in a tranquil environment. In our opinion undoubtedly the best Pub in the vicinity and also within a much wider radius. Highly recommended...

I took my mother here for lunch, after a hospital visit for her to cheer her up and we had a really wonderful 3-course lunch. We have been a couple of times before and this is our favourite pub for lunch when over that way, as we live in south London. As ever, the food and service were superb. Our waitress Georgia was so friendly, kind and attentive. She was a real credit to the pub and even went above and beyond in opening the disabled toilet for my mother when we asked for the key, a very kind & thoughtful action from her. The manager Olivia we remembered from previous visits and again, as always, she was so friendly and thoughtful in how she helped us. Really friendly and relaxed, which we loved. As ever, the food was superb. We have never have a bad course, let alone meal since we started coming a couple of years back. The scallops were delicious and the lamp rump superb. The sticky toffee pudding was perfect to finish. There is also a great wine list, which went well with our food. Thanks to Alex & Adrian in the kitchen for the great work on the food. It was lovely to be informed of who our service and cooking team were, so that I can personally thank them here. Also helped us leave a tip worthy of all the team as I sometimes feel as a customer everywhere that the kitchen staff get missed out of personal positive feedback. Gave a real personal touch to our lunch which we very much appreciated. It is very clear there is a brilliant team here, who enjoy working together. This shows in the great pub they are running together. Great venue, great food & drink and superb service. Cannot recommend this pub enough. Well done and thanks very much for taking such great care of us. Many thanks,...
