Avoid at all costs!

I had the unfortunate experience of visiting the Sebright Arms today. From the beginning I thought I’d walked into a faulty towers experience. The manager was unable to make coffee and then told us the machine was broken, most drinks we asked for were out of stock.

It then gets better, we ordered olives from the menu ‘while you wait’ and they took over 90 minutes to arrive when we asked the waitress she rolled her eyes and said the chef was working through an order.. I mean olives seriously !

We then asked the lady who worked their and she had us so much attitude I’m unsure why she bothered to turn up to work when she was unable to crack a smile and everything we asked her seemed like a major chore.

I can’t believe in 2022 I’m still writing this but their VEGAN roast contains dairy cheese! The irony is their menu says try take allergens seriously but they DON’T! As a vegan I was offered a ‘veggie’ burger without a bun which took over 2 hours to arrive. I wouldn’t mind waiting if the food was good but it was AWFUL everything was oily and disgusting.

Customer service was severely lacking and the staff require training before they make somebody seriously ill with their reckless cooking and ingredients and lack of understanding of dietary requirements.

I’d never return...

On 19/01/2024, we held a 'Wake' in the restaurant side of the pub. The Landlady Megan was very accommodating. Prompt service at the bar. The 'Hot food Buffet' was excellent. The homemade 'Spring Rolls' were lovely, as was all of the freshly prepared food. The excellant decor and ambience of the venue is that of a long established locals pub. As newcomers, we were all warmly welcomed in our party of just over 30 persons. We highly recommend the Sebright Arms in Barnet as an excellent venue for any function. We felt welcome to return at any time for a pint and something to eat. Thankyou Megan for making the day run...

Service was the worst I’ve ever encountered! Ordered olives which stool 90 minutes to come, & that was only after we complained. Starters took even longer. Mains eventually arrived another hour later. One meal had been forgotten. Vegan nut roast had cheese in it & gravy that didn’t taste any different to the gravy served with the roast dinner. The lady behind the bar obviously didn’t enjoy working there. She was rude & didn’t even reply when I said thanks as I was leaving. Only my husband paid before I came back inside, I would only have offered half of the full cost. On a plus, the Yorkshire pudding...
