A fairly large eatery at a huge and sucessful garden centre. The atmosphere was noisy, furnishing were a bit institutional, staff were somewhat uninvolved and seemed more into their various tasks instead of providing individualised high quality personal experiences for their guests. The menu was inflexible, I asked for a croissant with bacon and cheese, although these elements were all on the otherwise boring menu I couldn't be given what I wanted because they weren't available in that order on the menu! Wierd! I was eventually served a Croc Monsiour that was too hard to bite into and had to be cut up to remove the inedible crusts with crockery. The bread was too thickly cut, the cheese too unevenly spread and the three thick slices of ham had obviously been picked straight out of a packet and slapped down without being separated from each other or spread on the sandwich with any attention or thought. The flat white coffee seemed indistinguishable from the latte or the cappuccino offerings. Overall an expensive and disappointing experience On the other hand the place seemed spotlessly clean and the toilets were immaculate. I suggest the company should investigate running their own minibus service to and from nearby Sidcup because the TFL bus service was infrequent, the queue had grown to 8 passengers by the time the inadequately small bus had arrived, most of us didn't get seats and its timing didn't seem to bear any resemblance to the posted timetable. The bus shelter was inadequate to the monsoons rains we encountered while patiently waiting...
Read moreWe popped in for lunch as we had time to kill after visiting the garden centre. We ordered a Coronation Chicken sandwich, chips, lemon drizzle cake, a latte and a freshly squeezed orange juice via an app as a long queue had built up at the till and service appeared to be slow. Bizarrely, our order arrived in dribs and drabs, the reason being that different staff members were responsible for different components. My brother found that the tiny amount of chicken in his sandwich was overpowered by a watery vinegary dressing, rather than the usual mayonnaise-based dressing. It gave him indigestion and his stomach felt uncomfortable for the rest of the day. My orange juice had been topped up with so much water that you could see the separation between the water on top and juice below. It arrived with ice already added to it, making it pretty tasteless and overpriced at £3.99 for what was really a miniscule amount of freshly squeezed juice. No complaints about the cake, but overall it was pretty poor quality for around £24. We won't be back and we'd suggest you give it a...
Read moreCame here on a Saturday morning for a nice full English, waited around 30 minutes for the drinks, I ordered an large iced latte but asked for no milk as I’m lactose intolerant, was asked by a member of staff to clarify, I said just make it like you would a normal iced latte but add water not milk. It came in a cappuccino cup with three ice cubes and so much syrup that it was undrinkable. When I asked the staff about it they just shrugged and I just asked for a can of Coke as a replacement. No refund or anything was offered, then we waiting an other ten minutes for the food and it was the most disappointing breakfast I’ve ever had. The eggs were cold and hard, mushrooms stone cold and raw, beans had been out since last week, hash browns were found at the bottom of someone’s freezer; and to top it all off you have to pay extra for toast but in all honesty that was the best part! Over all an extremely disappointing trip but you best believe we struggled through as for two of us it was £25!!!! Please don’t waste your money...
