Me and my friend walk into the whap whap kitchen, and whilst ordering my friend was dying for toilet.

We travel all around London to try Jamaican food.

Whilst we were ordering my friend from New York thought the toilet is at the back not knowing there are some work being done he rushed there.

Bear in mind my friend from New York is 6.1/6.2 beast Who is an athlete, also Famous but they don’t recognise who he is. But he looks scary enough to make you think twice if you’re getting robbed or run up on lol but a beautiful soul brother.

So I call him back out cause the lady was like noooooooo,

And as he came back out while I’m telling my friend that there is no access………

There he was ……….. The Legend……… The Mystery……. The iconic……. The master of all kitchen darkness…….

The Whap Whap King….

He came out the kitchen and switched at my guy from new York not knowing my friend is an athlete and mistook him for road man which I don’t blame him my friend is literally a beast. I quickly got involved and hush down the situation cause my friend New York would be on spinning coupes lol

The look the whap whap king gave my friend and I was too deep and that look will forever stay with us. While some of you find this funny and comedy I promise you it was situation that could have went side ways in many ways.

But thank god I calmed the situation down and we ordered some food.

The whap whap king’s wife and children took over, took and packed our order and had us on the way.

Ever time my New York friend sometimes says something to piss me off lol

I reply one thing and only on thing …….

“Don’t make me get the whap whap king to whap Whap you quick time” lol 🤣🤣🤣.

We laugh our guts out.

Nevertheless

Thank you to the whap whap kitchen you guys gave us some truly delicious food, we ended up eating in the car on how delicious it was we didn’t wait back to get home. The oxtail and the fish took me back to Jamaica even though I’m from other side of world, the food was so delicious I had the whap whap kitchen on all day.

We will, well I will forever remember the Whap whap king and kitchen and we shall visit on our next visit to the area.

I recommend everyone to try their food and I urge everyone to take their business to the whap whap kitchen cause they are doing a great job in the quality and taste of the food,

I went into the shop with high hopes, after being welcomed by the nice Indian lady serving. She was the highlight of the shop. However the food disappointed in every department. I’ve never tasted such bland Caribbean food in my life and i am shocked. Can caribbean food be this tasteless and disappointing?! The oxtail tasted terrible and was far from authentic, the mac and cheese was dry, not cheesy and hard as a brick. It had two different types of pasta (from Italy) and not even one macaroni. My partner ordered boneless fish and garlic mashed potatoes that didn't taste like it had any garlic in it. All it did was give him nightmares of school dinners, he couldnt stop talking about it for the rest of the evening. We also ordered fruit punch and tropical punch and even that left alot to be desired. The fruit punch was watered down and tasted like syrup although the tropical punch did have some flavor. However at the cost of £4.50 it was not worth it and left a bad taste in my mouth. The happiest part of the meal was the coleslaw and im glad because had that failed as well it would truly have been a culinary disaster. Im saying all this to say, for an order that was just short of £50 it was an utter disappointment and i truly hoped for better. So unfortunately any true Caribbean or anybody looking for authentic Caribbean food this is NOT the place for you! Go at your own...

White rice gets a 8 out of 10 cause there wasn’t much klumps in it and it was single single and not sticky.

The rice n peas was Devine. You could actually smell the coconut 10/10

Festivals were hard on the inside and I couldn’t taste any sugar or cornmeal. 3/10

Oxtail gravy and meat was bland. Needs more seasoning. The gravy was more on the watery side. 3/10

The curry coat tasted like Indian curry as opposed to Jamaican flavoured curry. 2/10

I really want this business to stick around and last long as it’s the closet one too me therefore I am Hoping my review will be taken on board for improvement in the flavours to the oxtail n curry goat.

It was nice to have males at the counter as oppose to the typical facisty attitude females. Hope it sticks this way.
