Early Bird — Restaurant in Maidstone

The manager refused to give us the prosecco deal, we were told the deal started at 5pm, even though I check every poster for the deal and not one of them stated that there was a time frame. I asked for the vegan burger, which on the menu was described as a butternut squash and sweet potato patty. The waiter brought over a portobello mushroom and halloumi burger. I told him the order was wrong and he rushed it away apologising. He did come back and apologise again that he hit the wrong button on the till. The 2nd burger came out quickly but was also wrong. Just popped in for a drink so cannot comment on food at this time. The pub/restaurant is set out in various areas with some parts laid up for diners. The area around the bar has high tables with stools and chairs and has a rustic appearance.Yhe bar area has a log burning fire, not in use as I visited on a wet but warm day. There is also a garden area with benches plus wicker furniture. Food is served from noon until 12.30 and from 6pm in the evening except for Mondays when the kitchen is closed. Food is mainly English fare and there are deals and specials. Prices are moderate. The pub has live music. Twice a month. The lady behind the bar was friendly when I spoke with her. I'm not sure about parking as it's on The Tesco site and they only allow two hours car park and your car is clocked by ANPR...

The change in management over the last year and a half is most noted and was very necessary; the last two geezers 'running' it were awful and the food and reliability of it being available was terrible.
