Wedding review… First off, if you are looking here for reviews because you are considering The Holt Fleet for your wedding venue, stop considering and book, you will not be disappointed!!

We got married here recently and cannot express how amazing the experience was.

Firstly , our wedding coordinator was a dream! Alice was amazing through the whole process and just made everything so easy.

The day it’s self was a wash out, but we didn’t even notice. The venue made our day look amazing, feel intentionally not outside and nothing was too much trouble. I was able to visit the day before and add any touches like the favours etc and make any changes with Alice.

The venue staff were so sweet, Alice was there to make sure everything ran smoothly and if it didn’t , I still don’t know about it. Thank you all so so much for making the day so AMAZING!

The food was delicious, seriously, wedding food can be hit and miss and we were thinking the wedding package is too good to be true so the food will be ‘okay’, but my were we wrong, people were raving about the food and are still talking about it days later. It was served hot, it was served well and it was delicious !!

The toast master was the sweetest included in the package, he was lovely to everyone, spent time talking to guests and kept everything on track.Thank you.

The wedding package the holt fleet offer really seems too good to be true, but the quality of everything is so amazing. It also includes a DJ. We were lucky enough to have James. James was EPIC! He had a couple of pre calls with us and we asked for music that he doesn’t normally play (or has heard of in some cases), yet we have a list of loads of music and boy did he deliver! He mixed songs into each other seamlessly, he read the crowd and the dance-floor was the place to be. He was a really great DJ, excellent vibe and so easy to work with! Thanks James.

I could go on and on about this place, but honestly, if you are looking for a wedding that’s intimate, in a gorgeous setting , with a beautiful garden (when it’s not pouring down), a lovely river view, a balcony and a great indoor space to celebrate with those near and dear then look no further. It’s worth so much more then they charge and the service is out of this world.

Our Dream Wedding at The Holt Fleet August 1st, 2025

We honestly can’t put into words how perfect our wedding day was at The Holt Fleet. From the very first visit to the big day itself, everything was handled with such professionalism, care, and warmth. The venue is absolutely stunning set right by the river with beautiful views and a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. It was everything we hoped for and more.

A massive thank you to Helen, our incredible wedding coordinator, who went above and beyond from start to finish. She made the whole planning process feel smooth and stress free, always on hand to answer our questions, offer advice, and make sure every detail was just right. Her organisation, calm presence, and genuine kindness were truly appreciated, and we’re so grateful for her support throughout the entire journey.

We also want to give a heartfelt shoutout to Richard, our wonderful toastmaster, who was fantastic on the day. He kept everything running perfectly to time, made everyone feel welcome and at ease, and added a real sense of occasion and fun. He was both professional and approachable exactly what we needed to help us relax and enjoy every moment.

The entire team at The Holt Fleet were amazing friendly, attentive, and clearly experienced in delivering top-class weddings. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and everything ran seamlessly.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone involved in making our wedding day truly magical. We will treasure the memories forever and would 100% recommend The Holt Fleet to any couple looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding staff.

The Bride and...

Lovely looking pub with outdoor seating available by the river. Garden 'pods' were available which can be booked, and include linen, cushions and drinks, or none of the above for no additional charge. A great resource to spend an afternoon or evening, as they overlook the river and the road bridge. Nicely appointed inside too with fairy style lights and faux flowers hanging one end.

We had burgers and the halloumi kebab. The adult 'Holt burger' comes with 2 x patties for about £15 and chunky chips. It looked excellent and tasted very nice. The childrens meals, whilst slightly smaller, still came with ample chips and a choice of peas, beans, sweetcorn or salad. So bravo to them for the choice. The chips were also chunky style which were good in colour and had very little fat. Salt, pepper and a range of sachet sauces were available in a little caddy which was good.

The halloumi kebab looked really good. Large chunks of cheese with mixed peppers and red onion. It came with dressed salad, a spicy dip, and plenty of chips. The only negative was it was cooked for long enough. The red onion was virtually raw. A waiter was happy to take it back when I asked if it could he cooked more. When it came back, it was a fresh meal... but still not cooked for long enough. I left most of the onion. The rest of the meal was very good.

Staff were friendly and accommodating too, and happy to get us extra water for the meal.

Well worth a visit as the restaurant inside looked really well presented. A specials board was inside with several main choices.
