Unwined Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Malvern Hills

Make no mistake, this is a most elegant eating and drinking establishment, staffed by caring and well mannered staff.

I've visited Unwined Bar & Bistro three times now, the last time was at lunchtime when I had their tapas for the first time. Unfortunately their tapas were a disappointment.

The taste that seemed to be prevalent overall in the dishes that were ordered was lemon, lemon, lemon. Yes, I realise that lemon was used as an ingredient in some of the dishes, but the taste balance of the dishes was marred by its overuse, masking any other flavour the dish had and leaving a sour taste in the mouth. Even the garlic mushrooms that were ordered tasted of lemon, or was that an improper use of the white wine? Either way one of my favourite dishes was ruined by it.

The Tempura Calamari, although advertised as "lightly battered", also appeared to be lightly deep fried, so were soggy on the bite.

I may be wrong but the Padrón Peppers appeared to have been cooked/blistered with a blowtorch rather that fried in smoking oil and so were a little underwhelming.

This has by no means put me off visiting Unwined Bar & Bistro and neither should it you. Maybe a little more care in the kitchen will prove to be a more successful...

The food was absolutely on point. Delicious, piping hot, good produce, great portion sizing and well presented. The lava steak was second to none in both taste and presentation. The way you finish slicing it up and continue cooking it at your table with the garlic butter is just genius. All tapas dishes were excellent and the gambas prawns were so juicy and full of flavour and perfectly cooked. I could go on all day. The service too was excellent. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. A big thanks and kudos to the chefs and staff. I hope they continue to do what they're doing. There are not enough restaurants with this type of quality, care and arrentivrness put into it. Even the cocktails are well made and put together with thought and care rather than thrown together like at alot of other places. ...

Tonight the Hubby took me for a lovely treat of cocktails & tapas at a - last minute kind of thing/idea - 💜 We have visited many times since they opened this time last year and would highly recommend to anyone.

Of course it was amazing as always! We absolutely love that this beautiful place is where we live! It is literally like stepping into "another world" once you enter through the door ~ pure tranquility, relaxing Mediterranean vibes with the music, food & more!

Again, beautiful food, absolutely delicious! Excellent customer service (literally second to none!), a wonderful atmosphere in the cosy/comfy relaxed seating area which we were in for the first time tonight of our many visits 😀 AND excellent presentation of all food served & drinks too.
