Misrepresented terms on taste card. Tastecard card can't be used in a sat, bank holidays and special days e.g. Valentine's Day , Mothering Sunday etc. It does not say can't be used on a Sunday. There is no information that you have to book 24hours in advance. Just that you need to telephone. I have used Tastecard in other restaurants and telephoned to book on the day or just turned without ever encountering a problem. Today I telephoned the firbank to ask to book a table using the Tastecard. Was told by a polite young man , Josh , that his boss had told him that Tastecard could not be used on a Sunday. I explained to Josh that this was not the terms in the Tastecard website. He then said that I should have booked 24 hours in advance. Again this is not stated on website. I asked that he check website and he telephoned me back , confirming that what I had said was correct but his hands were tied and he would inform his boss to get site information updated. This just wasn't good customer service and I feel very let down by the...
Read moreI recently visited The Firbank Pub & Kitchen using a dine-in voucher that was kindly offered after a disappointing Uber Eats order, where the food had arrived overcooked and not great quality for the price. I appreciated the gesture and thought I’d give it another go, especially as I’d heard good things about the Sunday roast.
Unfortunately, the dine-in experience didn’t really change my opinion. I ordered the Sunday roast again, hoping for improvement, but was left underwhelmed. The meat was overcooked, the plate was missing stuffing, and overall everything was lukewarm—not what you’d hope for from a roast. My partner had the chicken goujons, which were quite salty and again just not great in quality. While the portion sizes are generous, the food still didn’t live up to expectations.
That said, the staff were lovely and Simon in particular stood out with excellent customer service. It’s clear they care about the customer experience, which is really appreciated—but sadly, the food just isn’t enough to...
Read moreTerrible place.... Came for the first time last night and it will be my last. It's full of young kids I was even speaking to a lovely but young girl in the toliets who said she is 17 its her aunty and uncle who own it. It seemed like a youth club and noticed so many underage drinking going on. I witnessed a young boy being grabbed out and beaten by the owners for what it seemed to be over nothing an no way justified. Another young girl was telling them to stop hitting this probably underage boy as he has a condition known as cystic fibrosis and he could die from these terrible strikes these vile humans was giving this boy. They didn't care they continued with hitting him and threatened the young girl. The owner hit his head on the floor whilst beating this boy and told the police it was in fact him who did this to him. The boy was arrested on suspicion of assault when infact it should've been the 53 year old man . I'm been to the police station today to give my statement and my recorded footage of the...
