In a city where 'so-called' council representatives are doing their level best to CLOSE our socialising venues (like ours who, despite STILL claiming to represent us, has abandoned Harpurhey to live in the more affluent St Peter's Street in Manchester city centre) it's refreshing to have a REAL pub, like the Shiredale, to be able to be ourselves and... well... SOCIALISE in OUR way, with OUR friends and neighbours ... not forced into expensive city centre dives! The Shiredale has always been, is now, and ever SHALL be my local of choice. Love...

last time I called in here was about 3 years ago,and didnt enjoy the visit,I used to go in often in the 70s when my late parents lived a few door away and it was great, today on way back from visiting Moston cemetery me and couple of family members thought we would look in again,and wow what a suprise,it was lovely and friendly Great service,welcoming staff,just really enjoyable,just like it was in the 70s. thank you for making us...

A local pub that's all about the community and living up to its standards, been going here for years but it just keeps getting better each time. There is always loads of different events going on (not too pricey either) always something new.
