No.19 Cafe & Bistro — Restaurant in Mansfield

I went for afternoon here with my mum and sister on Wednesday, and it was absolutely amazing. The cafe itself has a lot of character and a lovely atmosphere, the staff were friendly and couldn't do enough to help and to make sure we had a lovely visit. I'm vegan and I'm used to expecting the usual bare minimum, as long as I can eat something I'm happy. But the afternoon tea was phenomenal - I knew it was a good sign when they had 3 varieties of plant milk to choose from rather than just soya! Then when the food came I had a variety of sandwiches and coleslaw, a scone and a gorgeous lemon cake. And without even asking I was given all assurance that they had used vegan ingredients.

Food was nice but service poor. I was served before another couple but they were given their food and drink together before me and i was made to wait ages for my food after being given my drink. Then to add to this, once my food was given i was informed the table was reserved for a certain time so could not stay much longer. Why wasnt i informed of this before ordering. Stopped in for lunch and couldnt be more please. Excellent range of items on the menu and specials on boards, from teas/coffees, light snacks for full meals. We had the traditional breakfast and that was superb. Came out freshly cooked, nothing left drying under a hot plate here! Even the toast was amazing - proper crusty bread.
