We came in for breakfast and unfortunately had a very poor experience. My friend, an elderly gentleman, ordered the veggie breakfast. The order was taken incorrectly, and when the plate arrived it was clear it was not vegetarian. He politely asked staff to check, but instead of resolving the issue, they brought over the ticket slip and implied he had been confused, despite the whole table hearing him order a veggie breakfast.
He then asked for two veggie sausages (which were not offered in the first place). Rather than just rectifying the mistake, staff made him confirm if he wanted them which of course he did, since he had paid for a vegetarian meal. At that point, he became flustered and embarrassed, and said not to bother anymore. Surprisingly, the plate containing meat was not taken away, and the male owner said to simply cancel the sausages instead of correcting the order.
I then asked if he could be offered a free coffee for the trouble. A female staff member told me I shouldn’t have asked, as she was “going to ask anyway” – and then became defensive and hostile, saying I’d made them “look bad.” I found this response both unprofessional and unnecessary.
We specifically came here because vegetarian breakfasts are advertised, but the service left us disappointed. A little empathy and accountability would have gone a long way.

Read moreI had the pleasure of relishing a splendid full English breakfast at Frankie's Cafe in Solihull, which was an experience that will be etched in my memory for a long time. The mastermind behind this culinary extravaganza was the talented Denice, who not only cooked the food to perfection but also took the feedback with a smile that warmed the heart.
The breakfast was a sensory delight, featuring a medley of exquisite flavours and textures. The sunny-side-up eggs were cooked to perfection, with the yolk oozing out gently at the slightest touch of my fork. The star of the plate, however, was the bacon - a crispy delight that was packed with flavour and perfectly complemented the other components.
The baked beans were a harmonious blend of savoury and sweet, adding a burst of flavour to every bite. The grilled tomatoes were juicy and fresh, and added a delightful tang to the plate. The sausages were juicy and tender, and a perfect accompaniment to the bacon.
In conclusion, I must admit that this breakfast experience was nothing short of phenomenal. Denice's culinary prowess was evident in every dish, and her warm hospitality made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Frankie's Cafe in Solihull to anyone seeking an exquisite breakfast that is sure to tantalize...
Read moreAh, Frankie’s Café—what a memorable experience! Visited for breakfast, and while most of the staff were absolutely fantastic, there was one gentleman (let’s call him Mr. Personality, aka the owner) who clearly missed the memo on how to interact with other humans. We walked in, attempted to sit at a table, and were abruptly told in the most refined manner to “step away” because it needed wiping down. Fair enough, but who knew a damp cloth required such military-grade precision?
Once he finished wiping, he didn’t even bother to acknowledge that we could now sit or, heaven forbid, ask what we’d like to order. No, no—he just walked away, leaving us to marvel at his stellar customer service skills. The pièce de résistance? Watching him dish out the same winning attitude to the female staff. I suppose when it’s your café, you get to speak to people however you like—i suppose manners are overrated.
But hey, no hard feelings. My hard-earned money will happily find its way to literally any other café—perhaps the lovely "Two Mugs," where the staff are friendly and warm in their approach. Cheers to places where customers aren’t treated like a pest...
