What a wonderful little surprise this venue is. The host was very welcoming, not surprising, for such an unusual location, it is in the rooms above the pub. Make your way around the side to the back and enter into a bustling experience. Tables were efficiently moved to accommodate the two of us, and the knowledgeable waiters buzzed about taking their time to prepare orders and explain the menu. Apparently, it is the locals' best kept secret, and there was chatting and laughter, making it a relaxed evening. Because the pub is only downstairs, I would suggest having a quick drink, but you are able to get served at the table from the bar. The food introduced itself long before we sat down through the inviting fragrances, and patrons made their suggestions as we perused the full list of dishes. I'm afraid to say I played it safe and had my usual prawn puree and merga masala. After our freshly cooked poppadoms, the food was served quickly and presented amazingly. From what i saw the other patrons being served, I will definitely explore the range of dishes more next time. The portions were such that if you do decide to go here, I would suggest you skip lunch. Even though it's a small venue, you weren't rushed, so much so that the proprietor introduced himself and was genuinely interested in your experience. One tip make sure you book a table early. The cost was inline local curry restaurants. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly...

14th August 2021 Staying at the nearby Forest of Arden resort, we fancied venturing out and this location was close and well reviewed. At first we couldn't get a booking but the owner called me back and asked if we could come a bit earlier to fit in... happy to oblige!

5 minutes or so by taxi we arrived at what appeared to be a pub - The Queen's Head - and were somewhat confused at first, however the entrance to Meriden Spice is around the back and upstairs. Seems like a very odd building at first, and then heading inside it wasn't exactly spacious - nevertheless we were greeted with a super friendly welcome and seated immediately.

The food was the usual selection you'd expect at an Indian restaurant, and it was absolutely fantastic in terms of taste and quality. We had three mains, two naans, two sides and three rice between four of us and that was plenty of food - all of it cooked to perfection and spiced beautifully. The drinks selection is provided courtesy of the pub downstairs which was great, and made things simple for when we were done and went down for another beer.

The extra element we didn't expect is that the owner is a hilarious character, full of chat and jokes with all of the customers and couldn't do enough to ensure you enjoyed your meal to its fullest. I can see why people keep coming back to this place.

Honestly if you're in the area and fancy a curry, go here. It's...

Lovely food, great service and really well priced! I found this place on Google, on the website it said "award winning" and not being from the area we decided to give it a go. Plus, It was only 30 seconds from the hotel we were staying at (the Manor Hotel) which was a touch!!

Food was lovely, big portions! The bread was light and fresh, the rice was fluffy, the curries we had were full of flavour and weren't runny at all!! The saag aloo could have been a bit creamier but was perfectly cooked and the spinach had a nice kick of spice to it - worked perfectly with the tikka mascara sauce!

If ever we come back to Coventry, we'll definitely be back!!

I only gave the atmosphere a 4 because the light above us kept dimming and brightening... for a few moments we were in darkness and then we could see each other! Didn't take away from the overall meal and...

Best of both On Saturday we decided to go for a curry so we popped along to the Meriden Spice for a meal as we had heard it was getting good reviews. We both had excellent meals Chicken Pathia and Chicken Achari with a Keema Naan and Garlic Rice. It was all very tasty with the correct amount of spice and heat. The restaurant is on the first floor of the Queen's Head Pub so you could have beers from the bar delivered to the table. Great meal out with a pint of draft Bass. Will visit again very soon.

Absolutely great venue for a curry, staff are so friendly and the place is a little quirky and oldy worldly which is really great, now the food is top quality, best naan bread I've had for years and the lamb I had was so tender. All in all it was a great night out. Oh and you have to go round the left side of the building to get round the back of the pub to the restaurant. Highly recommend this place!!
