Fantastic food, we ate so much we practically rolled out of the restaurant. We shared four starters and two mains and surprisingly didn’t have room for pudding! Our stand outs have to be the tempura prawns and pork cheek (both starters) and the loaded potato skins with lentil ragu - but in all honesty we licked every plate clean! We had a bottle of the appassimento and I also had a glass of the English sparkling from the nearby vineyard that I would also recommend. Spelt really is a true gem, from the moment you step in you are made to feel so welcome, a personal hello from Paul the owner and the staff always so friendly, warm and attentive. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere with attentive staff.
Everything is freshly cooked, well presented and absolutely delicious! I had Brixham cod and my husband the Rump of Dartmoor Lamb - we would highly recommend both dishes!
The desserts were so nicely presented and complimented the previous two courses - just wish I had taken a photo for this review!
