Rice: The Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

This evening I ordered again from the restaurant, the owner gave me his direct phone number after the last two delivery experiences so I text my order to him directly via WhatsApp.

Uber eats & their website said 30 - 35 minutes for delivery at the time I text the owner my order.

Order sent to owner 20:06

Out for delivery 20:24

Delivered 20:38

Total 32 minutes so in line with the times suggested on both their website and Uber eats.

Once again I can't fault the food that was delivered, good portion sizes, fresh & tasty and well presented.

I really appreciate the length the owner has gone too as it shows he really cares and is passionate about his business & therefore I hope my honest and detailed review reflects this also.

I would recommend this restaurant as the food every time has been faultless & they have clearly taken on board the issues surrounding delivery and are being proactive in addressing this.

I've ordered on 2 occasions now from Rice - The Sushi Bar.

I can't fault the food on either occasion, very good quality sushi.

The reason for 3 stars is due to the delivery wait times I have encountered on both occasions.

1st occasion I order from their website and it said approximately 30 minutes. I called after 45 minutes for an update and was told another 10 minutes. Another 15 minutes went by and still nothing so I called back again and whilst I was on the phone the delivery driver turned up bringing the total wait time to around 1h 15m.

2nd occasion I ordered via Uber eats due to the first encounter using their website incase I needed to flag a complaint via Uber. Uber showed 20 - 30 minutes delivery time, it took a total of 55 minutes to be delivered.

My first order came to £35.00 & my second £30.00, it's alot of money to spend on an order for 1 person and therefore I believe the amount spent should be reflected not only in the quality of the food but also the delivery service which you're also paying for.

I personally think the restaurant needs to explore using Uber delivery drivers rather than using their own staff to deliver orders to...

Salmon Sashimi is poor quality, very thin. Especially considering its price here, I expected it to be juicy and thick. Delivery says 15 mins on Deliveroo, as soon as I ordered it changed to 35 minutes. Then it actually took 1 hour to arrive! In my view this is false advertising and needs to be rectified. I ordered from here because of that fast delivery time.
