Always like to give a new shop a positive review if I can but my visit yesterday was disappointing. Like other reviews on Trip Advisor, it was full inside. It is very small and we had a pram so definitely no room for baby clobber (!) and a bit gloomy as there are no windows in the coffee bar just the two large entrance doors you see in the photo. As it was dry we sat outside at one of their outside tables. We had ordered a latte & flat white as well as one of their small cakes. We were told that the coffees would be brought out to us so we took our cake with us and waited outside at one of the small tables. And waited. And waited. After 15 minutes (I even had time to go for a short stroll with baby), I went inside to the counter and found out they had forgotten about us!! The coffees were brought out 5 minutes later and as you can see in the photo the coffee was slopped into the saucer. Although they apologized for forgetting about us, I thought they could have given a free cake as a gesture of goodwill on our part for waiting so long and for being forgotten about! Please see how the owner/manager has responded to our experience below .... as the review above wasn't to their liking, the owner/manager complained about the review and told us not to come back (and don't worry, we won't be back!) but I see they have now retracted that. Baby Sam had major surgery when only 3 weeks old and although he's 3 months old now we can't go too far for too long as he's recovering so, yes, I would say that normally waiting an extra 15 minutes isn't "the worst thing in the world" but in our case it was important as we don't know how long Sam can be out as it varies from day to day. Here's a business owner who assumes everybody is the same and doesn't value honest reviews so I trust that gives you an idea of their true sense of hospitality. Taking a leaf from successful companies like Pret and Starbucks, they should have replied "We're sorry that you were forgotten about. This is not up to our usual high standards and as a gesture of goodwill please have a coffee on us. We'd really like to show you what we can do as we rely on happy customers giving us repeat business." I see that when the owner/manager retracted their comment telling us not to come back to the coffee shop, they replaced it with another moan about my review by saying that I had complained about Ori cafe but they fail to mention all my positive reviews given to Costa at Tesco, Morrisons cafe, M&S cafe, and many other eateries. In fact, nearly all my reviews of coffee shops and eateries are positive. Perhaps they will retract their latest comment too?

I ordered a dessert catering package from The Game Changer Kitchen for a birthday gathering, and everything was absolutely fantastic. I ordered cupcakes, strawberry cheesecakes, white chocolate and raspberry cheesecakes, cookie bites, and a dessert platter. I requested for all the desserts to be nut-free, with some vegan options, and all my dietary requirements were perfectly catered for. They provided a full, comprehensive list of allergens and ingredients, which gave me great peace of mind. All the desserts were made nut-free, and for the vegan options, I was given a separate box filled with delicious treats like flapjacks, brownies, and lemon drizzle cake. Everyone who tried the desserts said they tasted amazing and were thoroughly enjoyed. The cupcakes were beautifully designed, personalised to match my pink floral theme for a 50th birthday celebration. They looked stunning and matched the decor perfectly. The cupcake flavours included vanilla, Biscoff, and raspberry jam, all of which were delicious and offered a lovely variety. The dessert platter was very well presented, with a great selection that tasted fresh and looked amazing. The platter also included 50 decorations, adding a thoughtful, personalised touch to the order. The cookie selection box featured red velvet, triple chocolate, white chocolate, and milk chocolate cookies, all fresh, tasty, and a real hit with guests. The cheesecakes were especially popular too, beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Overall, everything was simply outstanding, with no faults at all. I will definitely be ordering from The Game Changer Kitchen again. Communication from start to finish was excellent, all my needs were listened to and fully met. While the prices might seem a little high at first, once I saw and tasted everything, it was clear that it was well worth every penny. The Game Changer Kitchen truly went above and beyond for my order, and I couldn't be happier

Original: Went on Sunday lunch and it was slammed. There were so many staff on duty and yet food sat there on the pass for a good 10 minutes before going out. It all seemed a little disorganised so unless you want to grab a cake to takeaway make sure you have plenty of time. I'd go again, but will wait until they've expanded into the space next door (there's a sign up to day it's happening) as hopefully then it's not as all over the place. Edit following owners response: Went on Sunday lunch - Bank Holiday weekend - and it was slammed. Slammed meaning busy because its clearly popular. In the nearly 1.5 hours I was there, there was at least 3 people in the queue at any given time, so the staff were rushed off their feet. There were so many staff on duty and yet food sat there on the pass for a good 10 minutes before going out. I was a hungover goblin so was watching the food like a hawk waiting on getting my long awaited grease fix. I'm not commenting on the food because at that moment in time you could have served me cardboard and it wouldn't have touched the sides on the way down. It all seemed a little disorganised so unless you want to grab a cake to takeaway make sure you have plenty of time. Takeaway orders were flying out the door but the eat-in diners had a bit of a wait so if you're on a lunch break then get it to take out. I'd go again, but will wait until they've expanded into the space next door (there's a sign up to day it's happening) as hopefully then it's not as all over the place. At one point a server was refilling the drinks stock but rather than having a box or tray they were just doing it in several trips with 3-4 items in their hands each time. I took this to be because of the impending expansion and this might mean they don't have the space to work the way they would normally.

Booked online was quick n easy. Requested soft seats but every seat is soft and comfy. Did get option to send a message via the booking system but didnt get a reply not sure if I was meant to. Very flexible to enable me and my friend to share a dish, even gave us 2 plates without asking. Good condiments on the table. Not sure why but mainly the first room seems to bounce the sound around the room, been before and with music was really hard to hear conversation across a table. Today music wasn't on which did help the chat (im sensitive to noise and have no trouble hearing!). The 2nd area seemed a bit quieter and others I know say its a bit noisy, more to do with the ceiling height, acoustics or something rather than volume/number of people. But the food choice is worth it so happy to talk louder! Very popular with babies the 2nd section was definitely more comfortable for chat volume. The service for drinks prior to food was a little delayed but they were busy and due to a fab drinks menu, they take time to prepare for some customers, we just had a juice and an iced latte but obviously more time is needed for milkshakes etc. brother customers. The actual food, eggs benedict was tasty although for my personal liking I'd prefer it a lot warmer, say hot rather than warm, maybe cos they were busy but I think they are always busy! I have experienced tastier hollandaise but that's just a personal thing. Upon leaving a waitress suggested to my friend that had we, had mentioned, prior to paying (my friend was just giving great feedback as to how we appreciated them accommodating us to share a dish - not cost related, portion size related!), that if we would give a 5star review we would've got a discount. I kind of get this but tbh mostly don't think its appropriate. Not sure if thays 100% true as the waiter was new. Maybe if there was either a loyalty scheme or owners wanted to give Google reviews a discount, post review, at their discretion, I think would be more appropriate and appreciated by customers, but not so public aware, just my thoughts. Finally, the overall experience was a positive one. Whilst a disabled Toilet I guess is not mandatory, but baby nappy option, I did suggest that a handrail would be helpful for those less mobile and may also encourage an older generation to visit. Particularly as they have a small egg options on their menu/happy to accommodate the smaller palette. I didnt notice smaller portions for children so maybe its more of an adult / baby venue. Looks like a great place for a family gathering, baby shower, retirement/leaving gathering. I'd been twice before but long time ago, tbh was put off as always so busy with mums and prams. Being able to book is essential in my personal opinion. Go...

Edited 2025 since last visit.

Edit 09/09/2022: Changed to 5 Stars now.

Since my original review we have visisted a number of times and each time the experience has been wonderful. The staff couldn't do anything more for us and the food/drink has always been exceptional with the amazing cake/cookie counter.

I look forward to coming back after your refurb. if only parking was easier!

Original review below at 4 stars:

Visited for the first time yesterday with my fiancee and our baby. Wonderful small cafe, very friendly staff who even chased after us outside when we forgot our cakes on the table when we left.

The food was extremely tasty. Especially the Avacado toast and the Bacon toastie. We will definitely be back, seems we have found a new favourite cafe.

Just to clarify the reasons we haven't given 5 stars, as I know I am quite pernickety these are the reasons why:

The prices on the physical menus we were handed, were different than the prices paid for certain items. For example the cake counter prices on the menu were around £2.50 i think but on the counter glass window written in marker it was £3.50 I think or you could get a number of them for a deal price. So perhaps the menu needs updating, the prices paid for items I felt were very reasonable and good prices for quality food.

Parking was quite difficult, only a few spaces available with people parking outside of marked bays too, a result of being so popular!

Inside with our baby buggy we felt a hinderence, as its small inside and it was busy. We luckily got a table at the front of the cafe, the buggy would not have fit in the gaps between tables in the middle or back. but it was too hot outside for us all to be seated outside.

The napkins seemed to be a lower quality napkin, quite thin and often ripped. I did have to ask for extra. This was only an issue and exasperated as my toasties arrived on a small wooden board but I would have appreciated an actual plate due to how messy and quite liquidy it was to eat.

But overall these are minor issues, some easily rectified and I overheard that they are expanding Into next door which helps with the seating arrangements. Wonderful cafe to visit with reasonable prices and amazing staff which are hard to find these days.

Edit after reply from owner:

Amazing to see an owner reply so fast, take feedback on board and be so positive to work on it. Fills me with great optimism and I'm sure with this attitude the business...
