Amazing food, service bad. We came today to mark a special birthday, (undisclosed to the staff), we had the three course lunch set menu. The food was simply amazing, scrumptious, rich in flavours, and we would highly recommend to everyone. However, we have never had service where we felt so invisible, whilst younger than the average customer at the lunch setting of today, and not in a big group (with the expectation of a big tip), very much ignored for large periods of time, after 2 separate courses, had plates sitting on our table for 15mins/20minutes on our tables waiting to be cleared. We had to ask for dessert menus, and the bill, all a tad frustrating when located near the bar, where the servers were standing. Need someone more experienced to take charge of the restaurant. This is the second time I have been here over a few years, and the food, location, and views of the vineyard, and Box Hill, are simply fantastic. I hope the service improves, as not fun, being ignored, especially for on a...
Read moreI took my wife to the Gallery Restaurant, to celebrate her birthday, on the 9th June. On arrival we were met by very friendly and attentive staff who showed us to our table straight away. After a few minutes we were provided with drinks and shortly after we were given our menus. There was such a fantastic number of mouth watering dishes on the menu that it took us some time to decide what we were going to have!!! We finally decided and ordered with our very friendly and professional waitress. When the food arrived it was fantastic and perfectly cooked. After we had finished our main course we then ordered dessert, again a great experience! The staff were very friendly, helpful and very professional in all ways. After lunch we toured the facilities of the vinyard and were highly impressed. I would highly recommend the restaurant and the vinyard to my family and friends if they wished to celebrate an occasion or just enjoy a visit to a workiing vinyard.

Read moreWe came to the restaurant as part of an organised train tour with a meal afterwards. The train tour was great but the food was shocking. It was £60 a head, the train tour is £15 each so we paid £45 each for the meal. The starter was a handful of mixed leaves with some of the smallest prawns I’ve seen and a drizzle of mango sauce. The mains were 1 fillet of sea-bass with 4 tiny potatoes and some peas. Orzo with a few roasted vegetables and pesto. Finally for dessert 3 scoops of sorbet and a awful chocolate brownie with ice cream. Genuinely could have had a better meal in Wetherspoons. We complained but no-one came to talk to us despite us complaining when we received our mains, so they had plenty of time. Really disappointed, we were there celebrating our wedding anniversary and my birthday and expected better. If you want a nice meal...
