I’ve been drinking in here regularly since moving to the area last year; every Friday I pop in. Today I went in at 230pm with my daughter and was told “we don’t usually cater for children.” So we had to go. Fair enough; be traditional. Yet this pub served me and my wife last year when we took our daughter in so - in line with being traditional - maybe be consistent too. An afternoon Sunday pint in the corner whilst my daughter has a coke is not going to ruin the atmosphere of your pub.

Edit 2024: Change of ownership and change of direction for this pub, moving to a more foody pub during the day. Weekday foods okay at the moment, assume they are just finding their feet.
The Sunday Roast however....is the best in the area. The whole roast in a giant Yorkie covers all bases and deserves the upgrade...

My daughter and I opted for the 4 for £25 bar nibbles ( which were much more than nibbles!) of spicy chicken wings, white bait, scampi bites and pigs in blankets.
