Le Chateau Cadnam — Restaurant in New Forest

Big thumbs up from us. Toni and Paul were an absolute charm throughout our stay. Le Chateau is freshly renovated and spotlessly clean. The room was cosy and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Le Chateau also has a bar area which was lovely to sit in whilst we waited for our onsite dinner reservation. The restaurant is also a big plus for staying at Le Chateau. The food did not disappoint and was definitely fresh local produce as advertised. The portions were generous and both the food and alcohol were very reasonably priced for the quality. Toni and Paul have additional help in for the evenings in the restaurant and all staff were attentive but not over powering, we were left to enjoy our delicious meal in peace but were never left waiting for anything we wanted. The room was quiet and we had a lovely nights sleep. As we stayed on a weekend there was a full english on offer the following morning. Again, I could not fault the quality of the produce and cooking and it was obviously cooked to order and not reheated. There were also yoghurts, fresh fruit and cereal available if preferred. We would 100% stay here again and hope to see Toni, Paul and their team very soon....

Tonight was to be a rather special event, a "Wedding Anniversary", so decided to go somewhere special for Dinner.|My Starter of Garlic Mushrooms was excellent, my Wife decided against a starter in order to leave room for Crispy Duck, while I ordered a Steak, hopefully "rare".|It did take some time to arrive but we were in no hurry, so no problem.|Her Duck was excellent but my Steak was very disappointing, it was TOUGH.|During the Meal I was hoping I might be asked the usual question "is everything all right", this did not happen.|Franky I could not cope so 75% was left untouched and when the plates were cleared I expressed my disappointment that the Steak was not rare and was very TOUGH!|I normally eat anything and do not like complaining in Public.|I was told the Chef maintained it was rare but no comment was made about it being TOUGH although in fairness I was offered another piece of Steak which I declined.|Sorry but it was too late, the problem could have been so easily avoided had the table been visited soon after it was served. basic service in a Restaurant|A very...
