Mamma Mia Hythe — Restaurant in New Forest

RUDE OWNER ACCUSED US OF FRAUD. My friends I ordered from here. When the pizzas arrived, they were wrong. We thought it was an honest mistake and phoned up to see if they could send out the correct pizzas and return the wrong ones. We were told that the manager was not in and that It couldn't be arranged for our correct order to be sent out. We asked for the owners contact information so we could follow up about getting a refund as we did not receive the pizzas we ordered. The following day we tried contacting the owner and got no response. We left text messages and received no response. Eventually the owner answered a phone call and said they would investigate the matter. Having received no response a few weeks later, we phoned the owner again. This time the owner was less courteous over the phone (presumably because we hadn’t just given up and accepted the terrible service) he accused my friends and I of buying pizzas from another place and putting them in their boxes to try and get a refund or free pizzas. At first we thought he was joking. Who has the time and effort to do all that for some free pizzas. I tried to explain that we normally order from here and don’t have an issue and have never asked for a refund before. It is really disappointing to receive this response and be treated in this way by the owner. We should mention the staff that we spoke to at the store were all helpful and apologetic. However we no longer order from here due to the rude and incompetent owner who does not value his customers. I suggest if you have a problem with a pizza you order from here to go straight back to the store and complain in person because they will just ignore you over the phone and hope you don’t care enough to...

We used there website to make a booking for the Christmas dinner as advertised on there website, then made the booking for the evening for 4 people, when we arrived they had our booking, but not the Christmas dinner as promised, when we asked the said, the website is not there website, it was the previous owners, but yet they still had our booking, just lies, we decided to stay and have Italian food instead, we watched the next table complaint about the lasagna being hard and dry, they couldn’t change it because it’s pre-made and all the same, so microwaved, we ordered 3 x sea food pasta, it had no tomato sauce in at all, it was like washing up water, full of broken mussel shell, cutting our mouths, really tasteless and frozen microwaved prawns 🍤 very hard and overcooked, we complained that 3 of us couldn’t eat it and they shrugged their shoulders, at the end we complained again, the best they could do was take 10% off the bill, it would seem that it must of just change ownership again, having visited 2 months ago and had a fantastic meal, it’s completely gone to the dogs, but even the dogs would not feed on that, we left hungry and £131 lighter in our pockets, avoid this place and visit the local Indian...

The food was of a reasonable standard. Overpriced for what it is. The cured meats board was a waste of money - just a few olives and bits of pepperoni on a limp salad.

The beer in draft was a cloudy colour. It tasted ok.

The interior felt dirty and there is only one toilet for the whole restaurant that was dirty. When we came out of the restaurant, we met some interesting clientele going upstairs, what I can only assume was owned by the same company. It didn’t feel like an Italian restaurant at all! The place felt cheap, especially with pictures of drunken customers repeatedly appearing on the screens.

The service was average. Plates were being cleared whilst people were eating which was incredibly rude. The staff also slammed the food down on the table. When it was time to pay, the man taking the payments was rude and didn’t thank anyone for their custom.

I will not return to this overpriced and overrated place. It’s not a relaxing...
