We were booked in for lunch in celebration of my birthday. Easy to find as it's on the roadside, with adequate parking space. The outside aesthetics are nice, and inside is no different. It's a very warm and welcoming feeling as you walk in. Fairy lights around the wooden ceiling beams. An open fire at the far end of the building which is always a nice focal point. It's furnished and decorated well. The staff are attentive and very friendly. It's always nice to have smiles and enthusiasm. Cannot fault the cleanliness either. The menu choices were diverse but simple. Noone likes a fussy menu! And the food was outstanding! Everything that graced our table from the kitchen was beautifully cooked. Well balanced flavours. Beautifully presented. And very reasonably priced! Food was a strong 8.5 - 10. Our overall experience was a 9.5 - 10! Big shout out to all the staff for going the extra mile in recognition of my birthday celebrations. We will undoubtedly return. And highly recommend.

Me and my wife had a lovely weekend break at the monkey house in lymington new forest, we found the food to be very well cooked and with locally grown and scored produce you can’t really go wrong. The owner and table service gals and (Karen) have been fantastic and very friendly to us and other customers in the pub, the owner is in the process of redeveloping the backend of the pub into a micro brewery with a glass fronted view for customers to view the brewing process, the ales brewed will be serviced later in the pub on tap. Watch this space.... We did find that over the weekend you need to book a table as it’s very busy but you can’t complain as the food and service is very good and clean. Hand cleaning stations are everywhere in the pub and the staff promote a strict one way access through the pub. We will be looking to book again after Xmas 2020.

So we popped to the Monkey Brewhouse for dinner, we managed to get a table very late but safe to say it didn't feel like it, as wasn't rushed at all and the service was fantastic. They couldn't do more for us. Sitting outside was great, and there we're heater lights, which just took the edge off the cool air when the sun started to go down. We have a beef burger and chicken burger, both of which were lovely. We followed this with Churros and Sticky Toffee Pudding. They were OK. The portion of the sticky toffee was so generous, but there just wasn't enough sauce to balance the dish. I would definitely recommend visiting is near, and the beers brewed on site are definitely worth sampling! Also they are super dog friendly!

We booked a 4 night stay at the Monkey Brewhouse in February (Thurs-Monday) we stayed in room 3.|There is a large bathroom with walk-in shower, the bedroom is small-ish but that's fine this over looks the main road but with the secondary glazing you cannot hear the road & there are blackout curtains.|The mattress comfort is a personal thing & I appreciate that not every mattress suits all, but for us it was a little on the firm side with noisy springs!! lol|There is not a wardrobe as such (I believe this is down to space) but a hanging frame with 6/7 hangers, the draws for your other items are small but functionable.|The first night we ate in the pub I had Pork belly & my wife had fish & chips lovely. we ate out on Friday & Sunday but on Saturday we had another meal, I have the Panache of fish (4 different fish) absolutely fabulous & its the first time I've heard my wife say that she had 'Food Envy' lol she had mushroom spaghetti which she did enjoy. |I chose this pub due to reviews, location & that it had a Micro brewery which severed a lot of its own ales & lager.|The restaurant was always very busy from lunchtime to evenings, parking is very limited to approx. 15 cars so it's a 'first come first park situation'.|The staff Sam, Josh, Sam, Freya, Tina Mark (head chef) & many more are great they are all very friendly & sociable & make you feel very welcome. |Unfortunately due to a family illness we had to cut short our stay leaving on the 3rd evening but nevertheless it was an...

An outstanding pub with a real local feel and a lovely range of bitters. Went in for a couple of drinks after a 7 mile walk and although the only ones at the bar, we were made to feel very welcome by the barmaid (got the exact opposite at the Fleur De Lys). As the regulars came in, they were friendly and chatty too (this is no accident as like begets like). As a result, we ate there that night, and they got more of our money. Food was very good quality and great value (by gastropub standards, and this is definitely a gastro pub). Enjoyed it so much that we booked a table for later in the week (more of our money!) and then popped in on the way back from another walk for a pint (and therefore they got more of our money!!). On our second meal we both had burgers, and I asked for mine to be cooked rare. Shock horror, it was cooked rare -and was very tasty! Chefs that create a very decent menu AND listen to customer requests for their burgers.? Blimey! So, basically if you want a friendly pub, with decent beers and tasty, great value food look no further... When we come back to the New Forest, we will make a point of going there for a drink and a meal (yet more of our money). Just goes to show that if management get the right staff and create the right ethos, they will make money. It's really quite simple but too many places find this concept...
