Appalling atmosphere. A group of us came in on a Friday evening. Their closing time stated 11pm and usually last orders are at 10:30pm/10:45pm, but were told that the last order was 10:15pm. Bar staff made us leave not even 15mins after this to close early. The lady (I would presume manager on duty), targeted one of party members to ID him, even though he had been sat in the pub for 20mins drinking a beer already. This lady only beelined to him unprovoked and didn't ID any other party members. Interestingly he was the only black person there.
Unfortunately our 30yo friend didn't have his ID on him, and she snatched his drink from him and dumped it. Even though another party member asked if someone else who had ID could drink it - she snarkily said "this is what happens when you don't follow the rules". But considering that beer was sold to him FIRST without checking the IDs, they are the ones that broke the rules first. You can't sell a drink to someone, take their money, AND THEN check their IDs afterwards - you're just stealing their money and wasting drinks.
This staff member was short with dark hair, and had a horrible attitude. I've never been made to feel so unwelcome in a pub before. Considering on your website it states "The Heath team is ready to extend you a very welcome. Our pub is friendly and wholesome, with customer service at the forefront." that is a joke. Stop hiring miserable staff members, and get them trained up to check IDs before a purchase happens. And maybe don't...
Read moreIn on a Monday about 630 pm. Less than half full. Firstly the heating was not working properly I was shivering from start. As most tables booked but not occupied we could not get another table.Had to wait about an hour plus for main meal because table 14 arrived for a pre booked meal.Table of 6 next to us with two small children had to wait well over an hour for main meal then some arrives cold. Turkey meal had Aunt Bessie style roast potatoes. Heath had run out of several main meal items and most vegetables not available. Other mains some items cold. I was served with a small Gammon steak lot of fat round the edge and the smallest jacket spud I have ever had .Poor slow service (I had to go to bar for second drink) not enough staff on duty and main manager off duty . Firstly we were not told of delays on arrival due to large party and secondly one small electric heater due to hearing problems was pathetic.I was shaking with cold..Two other tables near us same problems .So lack of information poor service but we did get an apology at end meal from duty manager.Frankly that's to late. Eaten there a number times and they seem to be hit and miss on service and whether food hot or cold .The heating problems been ongoing for some time .So can't recommend the Heath until they get their...
Read moreDespite being situated on roundabout It's a nice venue, bar to one side and dining/restaurant area to the other.
The greeting could have been a little better as there was three staff members having a chat at the bar and seemly ignoring us for a few minutes as we waited to be seated at entrance, just a polite acknowledgement or we'll be with you in a moment would have sufficed.
We was shown to our seats and offered drinks, given menus and asked if we had any allergies, we then ordered which went without a hiccup.
The one issue we had was my mother ordered a steak medium and it was definitely on the very rare side we pointed this out and the staff member was very apologetic and to their credit said they would get you a new one, the only issue being that my mother would then have to eat alone as our food was already on the table and if we waited would have been stone cold.
Other than that the food was decent enough without ripping up any trees, not overly priced, good enough portion sizes and the staff were polite and attentive. Would I go back? probably yes, I certainly wouldn't discard it as an option just a few creases to iron out and I think it...
