Can't complain about the food, but on recent visit on Saturday it seemed as though my partner was being rushed to finish off Her meal. Twice a young blonde girl waitress came to table asking if meal was finished so interrupting our peace. Secondly a male with balding black haired and glasses placed reserved table markers on tables beside us. He then rearranged table beside us 3 times while also looking over at us to see if our meals were finished to my annoyance. He obviously told young waitress girl to keep pestering us to see if our meal was finalised with hense She got a telling of by myself. I complained about the situation at bar to no avail. Barman couldn't care less only to say He has to move tables around. My question is why was He doing this throughout our meal and then sending female waitress to pester us to see if my partner had finished meal? If a planned reserved table event is on why not organise said area well in advance rather than interrupting the likes of us constantly? Maybe we should go elsewhere in future and I shall advise people/extended family to go to Muston Gap on a52 or maybe elsewhere in Newark?

Morning Chef was excellent, we were the last of the people He served in afternoon. Happy fella who deserves praise. Shame his work was ruined by the annoyance of musical chairs and tables as my partner called it, overbearing looks and approaches of have You finished your meal so I can snatch plates away with...

Update since last review: we went to collect Too Good to Go bag. Once reached the turn to pubs car park our way was blocked by angry nasty woman who turned out to be an employee of this place. despite clearly blocking entry to the car park by stopping her can in the middle of road she insisted we should reverse our car all the way to farndon road. She abandoned her vehicle with engine on and went back to pub to request assist and managers assistance in proving us how she’s wrong but we should think she’s right lol. Manager was very abrupt, been knocking on our car windows, gesticulating like a possess person until realised his nasty member of staff was in the wrong. Haven’t heard word of apology, instead he’s run away back to restaurant after convincing his employee to correct her vehicle position on the road and stop causing obstruction to car park entry. Faulty towers of gastronomy this place is.

The food used to be much better here. Since the bar staff changed, the quality has declined. A friendly and professional staff member was replaced by someone who doesn’t acknowledge customers and instead complains about her job. If she dislikes it here, she should consider leaving. I used to visit regularly for both food and "Too Good To Go" bags, but now, since those picking up the bags are treated poorly, I avoid it. Orders are frequently canceled even when food is available, leading to...

Everything was ok even some parts good just for me some of the customers were very rude not taking care of there own kids leting them run a muck i didnt feel comfortable with that its a pub not a council estate and im sorry the staff do not get payed a lot its a green king pub thay defo dont get payed enough to deal with your kids coz your a bad parent

So the food was ok just laking a little i would eat it but it was a little mediocre i couldnt say its trable but its not amzing saying this the price wasnt bad

beer was ok part from staff need more training in unstanding a bar as in do not serving hot glasses do not serve in wet glasses as this will affect the beer if you use a wet glass you will quite often see that the head on the bear will think very quickly and will not stay and when my beer is £5 i expect it to be severd correctly I understand within the Greene King pub there is quite a lot of training and most of the training is load of rubbish but these are the things that managers should point out to give the best possible customer experience so I feel like this is a failing on the manager's behalf as well

Good points staff lovely grate personality is caring helpful all of them was very happy

Lots of parking

Good beer garden but not shelterd smoking area

Kids play area its grate but most the parents were taking kids out to play and are just more intrested in...

Lived in area 5 yrs and this is the first time of visiting, plenty of parking at rear and a children's play area and seating outside Inside plenty of space Take table number to bar purchase drinks and food ensuring table number given Had a calvery today choice of 2 plate size I had medium which was more than enough the difference is the price and pigs in blankets which you don't get on a medium plate and 3 Yorkshire puddings to the the 1 you get on medium plate Choice of red cabbage, cauli cheese, carrots, Brussels sprouts and cabbage, roast potatoes and booked and mash, onion gravy or normal Choice of meats was gammon, Turkey and Beef and the usual mint sauce, mustard and horse radish etc The reading for losing a star was the beef for me was way over done as I like rare and was advised its cooked overnight But otherwise tasty, filling and reasonably priced 2 medium calvery, 2 pints of drinks (not alcoholic) just over £23 Certainly will visit again with aged parents but would book table to ensure reserved (if this is possible)

The food here is absolutely lovely! One of the best carvery I've ever had. I usually avoid beef as it's chewy in these places, but I had beef and Turkey and both were soft and moist, everything seasoned to perfection, soft veg just how I like it, and at a decent price. Can't wait to return. The queue for food and drinks was long, but well worth the wait. I can only assume it's because the food is so good and it's a Sunday of course. Would like to return on a week day next time maybe. The staff were all helpful and super friendly even though it's so busy, it's just generally a good atmosphere.

Brilliant restaurant. First time visiting and very pleased with the service. Was served by Katie and Ethaney who were lovely and very friendly. Food was good, we had the veggie curry which was a good size and very tasty, the fish and chips which was massive and a really good bit of fish and the carvery which was a huge plateful. Generally good menu, not too many veggie options though. We had desserts which were good size and tasty. Booked online which worked well and our table was ready when we arrived. Loads of parking and easy to get to.
