There’s so much to Sconce Park. Aside from being in the envious location of only 10 minutes walk from Newark town centre - it’s around the corner from Hawtonville, on the doorstep of the allotments and a short walk from Newark Hospital. I love Sconnys for dog walking, the River Devon and Rumbles Cafe which is a social enterprise giving people with learning disabilities responsible jobs and opportunities. The playground right next to the cafe is adventurous and there’s now also an adult fitness area. The Queen’s Sconce is also a crucial destination for people on the Civil War trail and a nationally significant battle ground. Read more1st time to this park and it is brilliant, car park fee £1 donation, clean and tidy, the cafe is brilliant good for and the decaf coffee was very good, the sandwiches were made freash to order so a little wait was worth it, and the ice cream was very nice and at a reasonable price. The park as some nice trails and the earth works are brilliant for the kids to run about, we will be going back well...
