There’s so much to Sconce Park. Aside from being in the envious location of only 10 minutes walk from Newark town centre - it’s around the corner from Hawtonville, on the doorstep of the allotments and a short walk from Newark Hospital. I love Sconnys for dog walking, the River Devon and Rumbles Cafe which is a social enterprise giving people with learning disabilities responsible jobs and opportunities. The playground right next to the cafe is adventurous and there’s now also an adult fitness area. The Queen’s Sconce is also a crucial destination for people on the Civil War trail and a nationally significant battle ground. The Kings Sconce at the other end of town is now buried under a new housing estate. Enjoy the park and keep it for generations to come.

Nice medium sized park. Places for kids to play, dogs to run and historic site to add a bit of depth rather than just a flat green field. Small trim track also.

Great little park and historic site... popular cafe and plenty of space to stretch your legs while polishing up on your history!

1st time to this park and it is brilliant, car park fee £1 donation, clean and tidy, the cafe is brilliant good for and the decaf coffee was very good, the sandwiches were made freash to order so a little wait was worth it, and the ice cream was very nice and at a reasonable price. The park as some nice trails and the earth works are brilliant for the kids to run about, we will be going back well...

Local park to us. Civil war monument. Clean and tidy. Nice walks. Good children's playground with cctv. Loads of grasses areas. Dog friendly. Cafe and toilets during the day. Loads of activities and events throughout the year. Free parking with just a voluntary contribution in the...
