Me and my good friend visited the Royal Oak yesterday afternoon, I don’t often leave a review but I felt inclined to as we had such a lovely time and was looked after very well by the lovely staff team. We sat on a table outside in the sun and it was just brilliant vibes all around. We felt very welcome and comfortable. We did go inside to order food and drinks and use the facilities which were immaculate and the inside of the pub was just lovely and had a very relaxing atmosphere. The bar staff were very attentive and friendly, I believe it was a gentlemen named Chris who took mine and my friends food order and I must admit we were both being a bit of a pain in the bum asking lots of questions about the food (as she was getting over a badly stomach and I have some texture issues with certain foods) Chris was extremely patient and understanding while also exchanging in some friendly banter which was really appreciated as other places have made me feel very awkward for asking the same questions but I felt very at ease with Chris. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals which we ate outside, I had a pizza and I must say it was the best pizza I have had in years, absolutely beautifully crafted and so flavourful. The young man (I regret to have not caught his name) was also very helpful and checked on us and promptly provided more condiments for us. The lady that brought our food out was also very lovely and welcoming to us, just an overall brilliant staff team here and you can tell that they take pride in what they do it really shows. We will definitely be visiting again and recommending...
Read moreWe tried to get a table before but was fully booked, so my instinct said that I should try to get a table in the future, and the instinct was right. Booked at 7:30pm, as we arrived straight away, the feeling was good, cleanliness, ambiance, staff and decorations. Jenny welcomed us and gave the choice of dining at the bar area or in the main restaurant. You could see that Jenny knows what she is doing, well engaging with the guests, quick, accommodating, positive and knowledgeable. We were given water to start and we choose a glass of Chardonnay and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, Prawns and Chorizo was my starter , perfect combination of sweetness, saltiness and acidity. My son went for the kid burger, my wife the fish and chips and I went for the Roayl oak burger. Fish and chips was good Burger amazing the only thing on both dishes the chunky chips we have loved to be little crispier and less soaked. My son burger was amazing and the chips were really crunchy and crispy. We had than the lemon cheesecake and the chocolate brownie, both thumb up. Overall, we loved the service, Jenny was really on the ball and is definitely a credit to your establishment, we loved the ambience and the setting and we certainly would recommend and hope we can make it...
Read moreArrived at 4pm, lovely place which we have visited before. Lily and Alisha were lovely. Placed our orders, 2 of the 4 of us had starters which arrived promptly and were delicious. We were seated close to the kitchen and watched order after order sent out, many of who had arrived after us. The orders must be sequential so we waited patiently. It was 4.55 we were just about to enquire as to where our food was then we observed that our order was chased up, we heard someone asked for table 5 and then it was called away a few minutes before it arrived, we had obviously been forgotten. When the food arrived it was delicious and apologies were received from the staff. When the manager came to our table she refused to acknowledge the delay nor apologise for the exceptional delay, this was very disappointing. Having been in her shoes I do know what it’s like to get things wrong in a busy hospitality environment but she was not at all empathetic to our concerns and failed to apologise at all, I made it clear that I did not accept her poor attempt at an explanation and acknowledgement of the fact that 2 of us were extremely hungry!! Great food, poor management, great waitresses and other staff. What a shame when...
