The Reindeer Inn — Restaurant in Newark and Sherwood

Positive: The owner was lovely and most helpful. We lost our key and he was so helpful offering to lock our room with the master key while we were out and just told us if we found it, to pop it in the post. Nice little bar and the outside seating area was beautiful. We parked on the street right outside the property - easy.. Negative: Felt that the size of the room was really quite small for a double room, and there was a sofa bed in the room too, so how this could ever be a family room is anyones guess. It was quite a job manouvering round the bed to get to the bathroom. Bathroom was small too and the shower door fell off on my husband's hands when he tried to have a shower. Managed to get it back on I think but I declined a shower, just in case! We lost our key to the room and searched the room for it - found an empty coke bottle and sweetie wrapper under the bed - cleaner needs to go to specsavers?? Doesn't instil you with confidence regarding cleanliness, especially with covid going on...

We stayed for four days. It was lovely! Even though it is above a pub, it was quite and had no problems at all. The owner was very helpful. He helped carry my luggage up and even let me borrow a phone charger as I had lost mine. The response was very fast with any questions I had. I will definitely be back and definitely recommend this place. It’s a short walk to the village shops and the Southwell Minster. Plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants are only a five minute walk. |The beer garden was nicely decorated and gave a peaceful place to have coffee in the morning. |They don’t serve food though.
