Visited with a friend yesterday to enjoy the festive menu. We had booked a table in advance. On ordering at the bar, unfortunately, they didn't have my friends starter in stock. We received our glasses and filled up on the unlimited drinks deal. The starters arrived fairly quickly, I enjoyed my mac and cheese bites, but they were a little greasy. My friends soup was covered in basil oil, which was unpleasant. She left most of it, but this was never queried as we waited ages for our main courses and had to ask if they were ready. We both enjoyed our main courses, I had the festive burger, and she had the turkey dinner. Both were piping hot and perfectly cooked. We then waited ages again and had to request our puddings. We both had a sundae, and they were fresh made, no complaints. We observed a severe lack of staff. Once you did speak to a staff member, they were very pleasant and helpful. Tables were left uncleared, and the place looked dirty. Under our table hadn't been cleaned, and the remnants from other meals were clear. It was such a shame as the food was delicious and piping hot, but nearly 3 hours to have a 3 course meal is ridiculous.

Arrived at a "busy" time around 6pm Sunday to be told there was 1 hour wait for food (tables only looked about 50% in use) Decided to have coffe while waiting. Went for the free refill at the machine to be faced by large clouds of steam from it while trying to brew the coffee - scalding hazard it I hadn't stepped back in time. It was reported to the bar staff who then came to refill the milk. on the second attempt it managed quarter measures and displayed a fault code on the machine (time and date on the machine are wrong on the photo) After an hour and 15mins without food we asked about the meal, to be told that it had been brought out and called out. It had been taken to a table 20 numbers from ours. We had to produce our receipt then wait another 15 minutes for the food. The meal wasn't bad when it did arrive and one of the servers brought a full coffee to the table. This is obviously a family oriented venue so families with young children probably wouldn't be too bothered by a wait while the kids played.

Food was shocking. Went their to let the kids have a play in the indoor play area. Cost me £10 odd for 2 hrs play for 3 children. Ordered food the starters were dreadful it was ment to be cheesey nachos, which were burnt and hard as rocks. It had hardly any cheese on and the salsa was just chopped up tomatoes. We sent the starters back and complained and asked them to send the mains out. The fish was overcooked and dry. The steak was ment to be medium and came rare and cold. Again I sent it back and asked for it to be cooked more. They decides to give me a fresh one and that was just the same rare and cold in the middle . So took a photo of the second one. Felt so sorry for the young waitress who didn't know why the food was coming out so bad. In hindsight I should have asked to speak to a manager but we decided just to come home and eat instead. Update: called and spoke to manager who was very pleasant and offered to resolve the matter I came back to the restaurant which I'm going to do now shortly.

Wow..wow...wow...The Redwood Brewers Fayre is the absolute pinnacle of disappointment. I dont normally leave poor reviews, however on this occasion i feel my review is warranted.

We came here for a birthday meal, tonight 19/08/2024 now to be honest, it was a last minute decision...that's on us but 5 of us were hungry and the one in Crewe we believed is closed for a refurb.

We decided not to have starters ( I'm now thinking this was a good choice) so we launched into ordering mains and puddings, 2 large mixed grills, fish n chips ( not available) so ended up with scampi, and a couple of chicken burger type things, puddings were a crumble, 2 cheesecakes, fudge cake and apple pie. The mains turned up and the first thing that struck us were the portions...they were woeful, I'll admit yhe steaks were cooked as requested but my God...can they make the portions of chips any smaller!! Peas...smallest spoon available, 2 very well done ( burnt onion rings) now taste wise...OK...not great but I reminded myself that this was a cheap n cheerful place to eat..in the end..not really cheap and certainly not cheerful.

Anyway..I digress...the others seemed happy with their choice, if not very stingy on the sizes. They eventually agreed to 'give us' an additional bowl of chips. Now we waited Iver 30 mins for our mains plates to be removed...now in some cases in a busy restaurant this could be considered acceptable, with a restaurant with 12 other diners this was not. A couple sat on another table had also been complaining about their food and promptly left...we were kept waiting for our dessert. Two members of staff were busying around (seemingly the only 2 working) whilst the manager was very busy...on her phone ( obviously not checking reviews for her establishment). In the end my wife had to ask for the plates to be cleared from the table. This was done in stages, 2 plates removed then 10mins later the rest removed. After a further substantial wait our desserts started to arrive...the first was slammed down onto the table...and I'm not kidding...the attitude which actually shocked me made me think we'd actually gone to one of those Karen's Diners where you pay for poor service!! So...complaints on the dessert..I haven't seen skin on my custard like that since a primary school dinner, the crumble wasn't really a crumble, my pie edge was stone cold, the cheesecakes looked OK and the toffee pudding wasn't too bad...apart from whatever excuse it was for custard. So...all in all..this is an experience that I really don't want to repeat or other make the same mistake...always check reviews first.

Will we return...we will not...will we recommend...we will not...will I leave a review...yes I have. #BrewersFayre... sort this place out and get a manager in who actually cares about...

We came last night to let our children have a play in the indoor soft play (we pre booked a session which we were told was from 5pm - 7pm) upon arriving we were told the session was 1 hour and that our pre booked table was not available due to others that had not left so we were given someone elses pre booked table 🤷🏼‍♀️ it was rammed with children (which I know isn't a bad thing but some of the children were BIG and were throwing themselves around, knocking the toddlers around aswel as another child punching and taking his anger out on the equipment which also nearly sent one of mine flying when he punched it towards her... there was no staff over looking to tell the parents to keep their children under a bit more control) we eventually left after just 45 minutes and decided to go for a meal as the resturant area seemed pretty quiet. We ordered, my partner got the table number wrong but corrected it straight away after coming back to the table from ordering and realising of which the lady went into the back and told them and said it was all sorted. We sat there and waited and watched how others were getting upset, chasing up their meals and even leaving, saying they had waited nearly 1hr & 30 mins for their food. We gave them the benefit of the doubt as we ordered really simple food but we ended up waiting ourselves over 1hr to which at this point the toddlers were extremely hungry, upset and it was getting onto being quite late. We chased it up to which the waitress finally came back to us asking what food we ordered..... she went away and came back saying food would be on its way, it turned up 10 minutes later and she said that it was OUR fault that the food was late due to the mistake of telling them the wrong table number EVEN THOUGH WE CORRECTED IT STRAIGHT AWAY. There was NO appologies, no thank you for waiting, not even a chase up to see how our meals were. The service is shocking, zero customer service skills and just plain rude. We could understand if it was busy but it wasn't even a quarter full. We felt like we were putting the staff out with asking if they could chase the food up and if we could have some sauces after the food arrived.. so unwelcoming and miserable. Won't...

Visited today and unfortunately we won't be returning anytime soon. For a Sunday the place was empty, I think in total there were 5 tables in use and 2 of them ordered food after us. Some of the bar staff were rude, and the duty manager on shift wasn't even interested in what we had to say, she was to busy looking at the unfortunate list of people who were booked in!! The carvery meats looked dry and we actually overheard another customer stating this whilst at the bar so we decided to order from the menu. We waited approx 45mins for our food which was brought out one by one but one child was left waiting for their meal until last. The food was nice and hot but we waited 25mins for our puddings, which again were served one by one and 2 of the childrens icecreams were brought out which left one waiting again until last, and yet they all had the same icecream ordered!! The guy that served us our puddings was the best one out of all the staff working, he was really polite, but unfortunately got the wrath of us moaning which we apologised for. Another thing they couldn't even get right was putting the salt & pepper into the correct pots, I mean yeah I suppose we should of checked before sprinkling over our meals, but c'mon what if I was allergic to pepper or even salt!!! The duty manager even commented to us she knew who was doing it, I think her words were "she keeps getting things wrong"....well your the manager aren't you? Do something about it! The only good thing was the kids enjoyed the play area and the food was nice and hot when served but maybe some more chefs need to be employed rather than the manager plating up your meals or puddings!!! Oh and maybe some staff that actually smile and speak with...
