Excellent food served by a friendly, hard-working and efficient team in a comfortable and welcoming environment. A really enjoyable meal available in a range of portion sizes from OAP, regular, large and meatless and prices that vary according to size and number of courses ordered. We ordered 4 OAP main meals (ample for us) which left room for an excellent pudding each. All our plates went back cleared! All round, it was great value for money and appreciated by a constant stream of customers this Sunday lunchtime. This is a lovely place to eat and the food is great and piping hot. We only usually come for Sunday lunch but popped in on a cold and windy Saturday and had mince and dumplings. Mine was with mash and my mam had chips which were home cooked and lovely. We were served by a lovely young man called Andrew who seemed to be the only person waiting tables but he was very efficient and nobody had to wait long for their drinks or orders taken. We weren’t asked to wear a mask which pleased me as I find the silly rule off putting but most people did wear one until they were seated so the staff respect your personal choice. We’ve never had a bad meal here and will be back to sample some of the other tasty items...

A canny little local, and one that's doing a roaring trade on food and good, solid Sunday lunches.

Beer choice is decent enough, and only the most picky would be hard pressed to find a drink they'd like.

Food wise, there's a nice varied menu through the week, and the fact it's busy most nights speaks well of how it's been turned around from how it was a few years back.

Staff are great, really chatty (the good way) and it's always welcoming.

The lounge and bar area's been given a brilliant makeover, massively brightening it up from the dark decor of a few years back.
