We were visiting family nearby and decided to eat out on our way home and my daughter suggested this place. "The people at work say it's great, but I never go out that way." What a find! The food is upmarket Jesmond standard in quality and volume, the prices are Wetherspoon's. It is nice, clean, the lady on the counter is lovely and friendly, and they had a lot of local custom whilst we were there. It is a gem that one would not expect given the surrounding shops, I was expecting a 'greasy spoon/transport café, what we got was a delightful little coffee shop. I was so impressed I wrote them a letter to tell them so.

Just popped into the Walbotl Coffee House today, ( not a spelling mistake, its the old Roman way of spelling Walbottle), for a friends birthday and I'm so glad we did. One of the best hot chocolates I've had and the cakes were lovely. They do sandwiches & hot snacks too and a range of hot drinks. The premises are immaculate . Friendly, welcoming staff. We will certainly be back xx

Great little place run by a really nice lady. Very informal atmosphere, but the food is rather better than your typical urban café fare. Everything is made to order and, if it gets busy, you might have to wait for a few minutes, but it's worth it. Will definitely go back... Pro tip: there's no car park, so you might have to get a bit creative...

Visited for the first time yesterday, having been recommended by a family member. Very small independent coffee shop. Really good fresh cup of coffee served at the table by a friendly server. Had a cheese scone, which was offered either cold, warmed, or toasted (toasted being my preference) Regretably, my companion or myself weren't ready for to eat something more substantial but we shall return as there was a tempting list of 'different' sarnies which I would like to try. My companion, a breakfast connoisseur, is itching to try a selection of breakfast items which were offered at a very...
