My partner and I visited here today on my recommendation for fish and chips, originally I wanted the beef roast but I remembered last time I had fish and chips a couple of weeks previously it had been nice so I chose them over the beef dinner.
Looking forward to it we were then bitterly disappointed to discover that there was more batter than fish, not only that but the fish was chewy with no flavour. Last time I had them I don't recall the fish being this bad. When the woman came to take the plates away she then asked if it was nice and I said well no because there was more batter than fish, her attitude to this was "well you should have told us when we came round and asked you the first time then we would have replaced it, that's the whole point!" but when we were asked the first time how the meal was we hadn't even tried the fish to know how bad it was. She then muttered an apology and walked off.
I'm not one to complain and I don't like to kick up a fuss but when a meal costs the best part of £30 I can't help but feel a bit peeved. £30 is a lot of money to me and this restaurant is seen as a cut above your usual pub food. You'd actually get better food and service at Wetherspoons or Tesco café! I think some form of compensation would have been nice, I would have been happy with just a free drink but nope, nothing, just a muttered apology which is simply not good enough! I certainly won't be rushing back anytime soon, I'm very disappointed especially since I had recommend it to my partner. I find the twin farms to be very hit and miss, when it's good it's amazing but when it's bad it's atrocious. It's a shame as with some customer service training and attention to the food you're serving up this could be a lovely restaurant. My advice? Save your money and go to...
Read moreAn unplanned pitstop at Twin Farms for a quick bite to eat. First impressions were friendly, and a warm welcome was given. The menu was a little pricey for a luch time snack, but they did offer small plate options.
We settled on x2 chicken swarma wraps and lamb tikka loaded fries.
Food arrived quite quickly, and there wasn't too much of a wait. The three plates were presented nicely.
The loaded fries were described to be topped with a garlic yoghurt and pickled red cabbage. however, when it came, it was more like a teaspoon of sour cream, and there wasn't much red cabbage, making the dish overall quite dry! The lamb was not lamb but was a similiar texture to and tasted like a chopped up lamb burger. It was edible but not worth the £9.50 price tag.
The chicken swarmas were deconstructed, served on what was more like a naan bread, and again, it was quite dry with no sauce (other than the tomato sauce we requested)
Drinks were fine, the latte could have been hotter. Overall, the food was ok but a little overpriced for the quality. I also didn't like the awkward "to you want to leave a tip" when paying by card. It was quite...
Read moreThe Sunday meal is very poor, I have been midweek and enjoyed it so thought the Sunday lunch would be good also. There was an option for a trio of meats (no duo selection available) so I ordered this and asked if it could be done as a duo, to which I was told yes. So I ordered minus the Pork, when the meal came out the larger selection of meats on the plate was pork, which in itself was very sparse. The beef was adequate as best the chicken was anorexic. The selection of vegetables on the plate served was abysmal. A childs meal of sausage and mash was ordered also, when this arrived the plate dwarfed the meal, the mashed potato was about the size of a single scoop of ice cream with two tiny sausages. When I pointed out that my meal was incorrect I was told that’s how it comes, I pointed out that the chef must have physically placed the meat on the plate so it was easy to not put what I requested to be left off. The excuse I was given was quite insulting to be honest. All in all a total let down and I’m sure that I will not be returning and recommend that others follow suit, it’s a shame but once again a...
