Aldos — Restaurant in Newry, Mourne and Down District Council

Poor Managerial Attitude Saturday 25th November I was in a party of 6 at Aldos. Two members ordered fillet steak and specifically stated that they did not want pepper on their meal. When the meals arrived both steaks were covered in pepper. When this was pointed out to the waitress in a quiet and reserved manner she apologised and said she would order replacements. Shortly afterwards Niall, the owner approached the table. He stated that mistakes happen and there was no point in anyone getting annoyed about it. He offered to scrape the pepper off the steak as it was only seasoning and not through the steak. he was not friendly and clearly believed we were at fault. This discussion took place in front of other customers who could hear the owner as he did not attempt of speak quietly. He then agreed to replace the steaks which would be ready in five minutes. The other members of the party had been served their meals whilst we awaited the arrival of the steaks which were not cooked in accordance with the request for medium and medium rare. At the end of the meal we were presented with the bill by the owner. During a discussion it was pointed out to the owner that whilst mistakes can happen it was his attitude and arrogance to our party that we took offence at. He replied I haven't charged you for two steaks and four sides and LOVE I won't lose any sleep over it. Again this discussion occurred in front of other customers who could easily hear what was said. We then left the restaurant. The owners attitude was unprofessional, rude and lacking understanding of customer service. We have previously eaten at Aldos on at least 10 occasions, the owner and staff would know us from those visits. We will definitely not visit Aldos again because of the owner's attitude...

Called in, no booking after driving from Belfast originally for food at the poachers pocket in killinchy, they where fully booked.

We decided to follow the yellow brick road, we headed out via Downpatrick and ended up in this we gem in Ardglass.

Upon entry I did notice the scores on the door - 5/5....Excellence straight away !

We were seated by a friendly chap, I would assume the owner.

We were given a table and menu promptly. I ordered veg soup starter.

Lovely, with a steak as my main.

I would certainly destroy another steak again in Aldo’s & recommend the culinary...

We had a very pleasant lunch at Aldos along with my family just before Christmas. Our party included 3 small children who were treated like royalty and nothing was a bother to the excellent staff. We had a range of food from the varied menu ,everyone including the kids were delighted with their meals and left very satisfied. Congratulation to the proprietor and his staff .We have been customers of Aldos for many years and have yet to be disappointed with the quality of food or...
